Skii, this is a rather good job youve done here, glad I gave mine to my sister and Ive showed her your work and I told her I expect the same standard LoL Now then, once this ear TSR2 is finished, how about ya make a Frightning & a Cranberry to go with her then you'll have the whole team as it where.

hehe - so you like the backdrop - :D well I chose the black because the local stationers didn't have any blue left, but actually after seeing some of Phil's work, the black background is growing on me. Admittedly life is keeping me too busy to put the final finishing touches and photos together, but I promise it will be soon guys and gals, and thankyou sincerely for the kind words :)

Hi Bex

I was fondling the new Revell frightning F6 boxing yesterday, mornfully wishing it was a new mould. I might just give her a go as I've given up looking for a Matchbox T.55, and you are right - it would look wicked along side the TSR :D

You mean one of these?

It almost literally fell into my lap a few weeks ago when one of my chums did a loft clearance. He gave me a box full of about twenty kits including the T55. Would I like them? Er, yes please! They are fairly plentiful on e-bay and don't necessarily go for silly money.

Just experimenting with a series of backdrops - not sure about black, maybe looks a bit stark with the white aircraft, seems to make the lighting levels tricky to play with - here is a test shot

Very nice indeed. :gobsmacked::pilot:

Skii, according to the pic Ive got of TSR2 with Frightning & Cranberry, the Frightning was a F6 but I cant identify the serial just yet. THe Cranberry was B2 WD937.

The Lightning F Mk.6 serial is XR755. There is an anomaly with this however.

The pic gives the impression that XR755 is one of the chase aircraft. This is not the case.

The pic was taken on the ground at Warton during Families Day after the TSR.2 cancellation.

The aircraft at the time wasn't even an FMk.6. Officially she was built as an F Mk.3ER. XR755 did make her first flight until 15 July 1965. This was some 3 months after cancellation of the TSR-2.

XR755 finally entered RAF service with 5 squadron on 10/12/1965. XR755 was modified to F Mk.6 standard in April 1967 and returned to squadron service in May 1968 with 5 squadron. In 1983 she was transfered to 11 squadron and carries the markings today. XR755 is currently owned and restored by Ernie Marshall Callington, Cornwall.

Thanks Falcon, I wondered who she was, and more importantly, even better to know that such an important Lady still survives.

Who-ooooo!

I just saw a nice CMK walk around book on the TSR2 at my local hobby shop.....your build makes me want to buy it.

Impressive work (I love the way you paint and weather your white).

Fred

It's a very nice book Fred, but if you have a detailed walk around of the TSR.2 at Cosford already, it has possibly limited appeal? There are some nice pics in there though, and some at unusual angles because of their privileged access. The section at the back on the CMK resin upgrades will come in handy though, as I have a few metric tonnes of those bits for my 2 kits :wicked:
