Keep going! just used clear acrylic rod drilled and screwed into bottom of model , heated over cooker and bent for angle , various sizes of rod are available at model zone so can't see why why it wouldn't be possible with a larger scale just remember it is the first thing to do before putting the body together so you know it is going to be firm enough to support the model .
