Vickers McFunbus
I dunno Dave- I just can't get excited about the Alpha Jet - in whatever colour!! I wonder if I have some deep rooted xenophobia!!!! The dreaded RAF training colours curse has struck again... "You can 'ave it any colour you like... ...as long as it's black". Shame really. I saw a very nice artists impression of them in ETPS colours a few years ago when I worked there.
speedy
Gone are the days of colourful jets. They've only painted it black - a. because it stands out more in the sky, b. The old ripple scheme is representative of the old A&AEE/MOD(PE) days and QinetiQ couldn't have that.............. Mike
It's not doing much for me either Of course, we still need that flippin' new 1:48 Alphajet from PJ Productions
Shaun
It was only time before we saw a black Alpha jet. I think it looks quite cool, but why are the roundels painted so high up the intake sides?. I also like that they have painted the "Last two" on the tail, easyier to read than the airbrake painted numbers. Shaun. David Womby
What's going on with the upper wing leading edges / tips on that Alpha Jet - they're not black are they? What are they? White? And, if so, where's the demarcation lines - anybody got a top view :-) David
avro683
That would look good next to a 74 sqn Hawk. I like the HS 748 as well. Tony

Andrew
Thanks very much for the link, Dave. It's interesting to see the scheme on an Alpha Jet (as opposed to a Hawk) and a change from the ex-Luftwaffe scruffiness (which I actually quite liked). I also read with interest about the Mi-17 movements, but notice that despite the 'accidental' shutter actuations, no pics made it to the thread. I'd like to see more of them! Andrew. Jan Polc
Hi folks, I am looking for some pics of black Qinetiq AJ, especially stencil details, if sb have some. Is there anybody who knows stencil details on top wing? My e-mail is j.polc@centrum.cz or PM here on britmod. Many thanx beforehand... Jan
