Kari Lumppio
Hello! My first post here. Thought the fellows in the know reside at this forum. In anticipation of the new Airix 1/72 model. My question is about the good old friend BAe Hawk and more specifically the 455 litre (100 gal?) extra fuel tanks. Does anyone have dimensions for it? Like overall length, diameter, the cylindrical part length, nose and tail cone curve geometry etc. A dimensioned drawing would be ideal. I would use the data for checking the extisting scale (1/72) plastic hardware. Possibly also for the Finnish Air Force camera pod, geometry of which is said to be based on the extra fuel tank. Something that I think needs verification still. Served my conscription time as a ground crewman at the Finnish Air Force Kauhava Base (Air Academy) in 1985-86 after the training period. The Hawks were then brand new and the last few Fouga Magisters were serving their last year. Have "met" Hawk also during rehearsal training camps since and the first time I saw the extra fuel tanks in use was in 1999! Cheers, Kari

Kari Lumppio
Hello! I would like to repeat my first ever question here at BM. I think I saw Antti_K mentioning something about HW extra tanks recently? Of course could use the private message but this may have more general interest. Cheers, Kari
