maxdecal
Hi folks, I'm trying to find out what a particular paint was used for. The paint is BS381C no.278 Light Olive Green. Anyone know if it was used on armour, softskins or aircraft? I'm not an armour modeller so apologies if this is one of those "everyone knows that ! " type of question. Any help greatly appreciated. Greg B
Probably close enough. The paint is 'Paint, Green, IRR' There are that many variations of colour you wouldn't be far off the mark because of the way it fades, attracts dirt/grease etc. However I have just sprayed a Harrier top surface BS 258 NATO green, I would hazard a guess that that would actually be the correct shade when new. Unfortunately, this has been asked before and I did try to get hold of a Tin from MT so I could confirm it but due to Elf and Safety all repaints including patch painting has to be done by contractors. If I remember on Monday I will have a dig around some of the next replacement vehicle specs that float across my desk and see if its specified somewhere in them.
