Harry_the_Spider Posted November 3 Posted November 3 I may have accidentally just bought the Revell 1/72 Space Shuttle and am now faced with the “and where the Hell is that going to go?” conversation with my better half. As this is something of a chunky monkey, coming in at 50+cm in length, I need to have my answers ready before the questions are asked. One solution would be to ceiling hang upside down with the doors open, and I have a location for this using an exposed beam over the staircase. However, my childhood memories of such an installation are conjuring up images of kits being covered in dust and fuzz. So, this would need to be able to be cleaned regularly, which would involve ladders and a 16ft drop for me, or it, if things go wrong. Another thought would be to vertically wall mount it on some sort of bracket that it could be lifted down from for cleaning. Has anyone done this or do they know if such a bracket already exists? Failing that I suppose I’m going to learn how easy it is / isn’t to bend acrylic.
Black Knight Posted November 3 Posted November 3 If you go for the vertical. I use these storage hooks to hang my swords on the wall. I think they could be adapted to your needs. Available from Screwfix 1
Harry_the_Spider Posted November 3 Author Posted November 3 It looks like you can buy an acrylic version of those^. Will have to come up with a way of stopping it falling backwards out of the mount. Maybe a magnet or two in the nose with another fastened to wall. 1
