I am buying a Harder & Steenbeck Infinity airbrush and I'm looking for a decent compressor to go with it. I'm not too constrained as far as the budget is concerned. Any recommendations please?

I have been running a Sparmax TC620 for seven years now with no problems. Might be a bit over the top with twin pistons so a TC610 would be a cheaper option. Got mine from those fine people at Air-craft.net.

Thanks for that. The price difference between the two models at Air-craft.net is £40 which would not break the bank. What advantages do you think the 620 possesses over the 610?

I swear by my SilAir compressor, and have had one since I got back into the hobby.  I started off with the SilAir 15, and gave that on "extended loan" to a mate, and now use a 15D with larger receiver.  Both are pretty silent as the name suggests, and the only noise worthy of nose is the PSSSSST! when the receiver indicates it's full and blows off a little air from the relief valve.  You honestly can't hear it from 10 feet away, but my spraybooth fan drowns it out anyway.  All you need to do is replace the oil once a year (or so), and they just last and last.

The oil will cost you about £15 a pop, and I've got a T-bar on my outlet so I can run two quick-release (QR) hoses at once, as I'm always swapping airbrushes, and occasionally reviewing new ones, so the QR is really handy. :)

I did a review of the 15D here:

Interesting. Thanks. I see at the H&S store along with the airbrush I'm interested in, they are selling the Sparmax TC610Hplus at £192 which is certainly a good price.

Did you buy this in the end.  I was looking but it appears you have to pay international delivery and import tax, unless I read that wrong?

Yes I did. I had to pay VAT on top of international delivery which is obviously substantial. On the other hand, bundled with the Infinity airbrush, the price was somewhat less than other suppliers who were largely out of stock at the time. So this helped to offset the VAT.
