Fairey Swordfish 1/48

I'm pretty sure I bought this when it first came out in 1999 as I remember trying to trade it for the float plane version which came out the following year. So after 26 years in the stash another appropriate moment to bring out one of the classics. Many of these have been made by others but according to our build log maintained by @2996 Victor we dont have one in the GB yet. Time to add a biplane to the mix! 

This will be mainly from the box but I have got the PE rigging set albeit from the float plane version. I notice this was actually included in later boxings, probably comfirming how long I've had it!

Excellent choice, Colin, the old Swordfish is such a great subject that I've been hoping one of these would come along! I'll be following your build as, although I don't have one in my stash, I keep looking at the various boxings on t'interweb.

Not much modelling time lately and most of that has been spent on my last entry to the Twins GB. I did make some progress on this over the last week so here we have steps 1-5 completed

 

 

The cockpit with fuselage halves ready for a dark wash and assembly.
