2026 Bunfight

[Enzo the Magnificent]

Hi folks,

 

these are the rules for The Bunfight.

 

Bunfight Duration:  The Bunfight will run from Saturday 1 November to midnight UK time on Friday 14 November.

 

Groupbuild Durations:  GBs and STGBs will run for the same duration:  16 weeks.

 

Category split:  There are 14 slots in total.  The split between GBs and STGBs will be 70:30 giving 10 GBs and 4 STGBs.

 

Votes:  You will have 9 votes. You may use them as you see fit.  You do not have to cast them in a 70:30 ratio between GBs and STGBs. 

 

 

Here is a list of what the GB titles mean.  Thanks go to @Paul821 for compiling it.

 

Bomber Command: Aircraft from the total time period of Bomber Command up to the late 1960's

Build A Nice Kit: Take a nice* kit and build it as directed by the instructions. 

Cool Cats and Furious Felines: Anything with a cat in the name/type.

Ground Forces Mega GB: Armour and ground forces of any era and any military.

High Wing:  Any aircraft which has the wings high on or above the fuselage.

Les Français d'Outre Mer: French marked and operated/operationally active subjects that were based in, or long-term detached to, any part of the world that is not Metropolitan France.

Long Distance Martime Patrol: long distance patrol aircraft. 

Muscle Cars: Any two-door family coupe with four seats standard or 2+2 arrangement, and a powerful engine. 

Nineties: Any items in use during the 1990’s

Not Your Usual Colour Scheme: any item not in its “usual” colour scheme.

One Man's Islands: Item relating to a nominated island (each island can only be build by one person)

Paint It Black: Anything which is 50% or more black-painted

Post-war Four and More: Anything with  four or more engines depicted as it was at some point after WW2.

Rescue and recovery: anything involved in a rescue or recovery role.

SEAC/CBI: Far East Asian conflict from 7th July 1937 and go to September 2nd 1945. 

Self Propelled: Any designated self propelled gun, case mate or converted chassis. 

Sharkmouths: Anything with fierce teeth

Starships - Real Space and Sci-Fi: Any space faring vehicle from sci-fi or reality.

Stick and String: Subjects that are predominantly wood/fabric construction from the dawn of aviation up to the 1930’s. 

The Specialists II: Recon/AWAC’s/ECM/EW,  Nightfighters, Tank Busters,  Ship Killers.

The Weather: Anything with a tangible link to the weather.

Top 10: Any from Me109, Spitfire, M4 Sherman, P51 Mustang, FW190, F4 Phantom II, Pzkpfw IV, Mitsubishi A6M Zero, Pzkpfw V Panther, T34.

Two Seaters: All two-seater aircraft, vehicles, and vessels

Worst Kit In Your Stash: A kits from your stash that is bad by design, manufacture, storage, damage, missing/broken parts or previous bad/unlucky events

Voting is now open, however I was unable to cast just one vote, as the software alerted me to cast at least one vote in the STGB section too. 

It's not a real issue as I was planning to vote in the STBG's as well, however if someone was wanting to support 9 x GB's and 0 x STGB's, then I don't think this would work.

Is it missing the "None of the above"- options? I was voting for 9 regulars and 0 STGB:s and it replied I should pick one from the latter too.

I see the pub has finally closed and the poll is open!!

 

I'll do the first chart later tonight, it'll give some me some data to play with......will try to have the chart up each morning....thought I will be away with work for most of the polls duration!

Very first results bring some proposals with surprisingly low and with surprisingly high votes.

In STGB section I think we have two strong leaders and then I expect a hard battle for the 3rd and 4th places. Just realised American subjects dominate the STGBs. 5:3:1:1 USA:UK:USSR:Nazy Germany

Given poll was open late at night in the Greenwich meridian time zone - I guess we're seeing much more votes in the next few hours.

gee been monitoring the voting and have already seen vote shifting with subjects loosing votes already....and the poll is still in its early days!
