Mission accomplished. This is Trumpeter's 2011 release of an armoured Sd.Kfz.8 prime mover. Based on a sole surviving late war vehicle and painted in a 'what if' three tone camo scheme.

This is simply jaw-droppingly good!  There is so much detail, all of which has received your attention to produce a fine result.

All the above! Terrific build. The cam and weathering are top notch.

Photoshop this in to a landscape and it would look like a reference pic rather than a model.

An absolute stunner, the painting, weathering, presentation - simply perfect! Do you plan to add some figures as well?

You've done a great job on the weathering. The camo is simply first class. Very nice work.

Hi kelscale,

This is exceptional work, of a very high standard; I would love to achieve that level myself. The camouflage and color blending are fantastic, in my opinion. More photos from different angles would be great, as you've done a lot of work on the inside that isn't visible, and the underside also deserves a picture.

Cheers

A realistic result, for certain. May I ask what is the solitary "wheel" on the top used for? I wondered if it was for running out a field telephone cable.

Thanks Echen. I have tried a few but I think you have to pay subs for the better ones

Thank you Nemanja.  My original intention was to paint it as the the resto vehicle and to add some modern figures but I do have a few WWII figures that might work so will have to wait and see.

Cheers Francis.  If you check out my first post above, due to my Imgur hosted pics now being invisible to UK web hosted visitors I have added a new link of the full build on my blog page. Here you should find more images.  I have tried to capture a few decent interior shots but my photobooth set up needs adjusting to best capture them.  I will endeavour to update them to the blog

Cheers Peter. I cant 100% confirm the answer to that one, and I wasnt 100% sure whether I was going to add it myself. Both period images of the vehicle towing an 88 don't look to have it fitted.  Maybe it was found amongst the rescued vehicle debris.  In the end I figured why not 🙃

Truly amazing model in every respect! But if I were to choose something I like the most, the paintwork is stunningly good.

Cheers Nenad.  I was sceptical at first when I laid down the first camo colour as it looked pretty 'blobby'  The scheme layout is inspired by a very well known model of a Sd.Kfz.251
