Pete in Lincs Posted September 19 Posted September 19 I built Spindizzy 1 a few years ago, based on an Airfix SRN1 kindly donated by @TonyW. I enjoyed that, so I've now used another one. This was a total gluebomb built with chopsticks at a distance of eight feet & sprayed with tube glue. but, it cost less than a fiver from the bay! TET, patience and sharp objects reduced it to component parts which took some cleaning up and slight repair. I had a MLRS 'box' from a toy tank, and the usual boxes of greeblies to furnish my creation. What could go wrong? BTW, Some of the pictures may not be too sharp in focus. Or is it my old eyes? Here we are. Tiger & T-55? Turret pieces at centre with the top of the SRN1. At left, the 'tail'. MLRS box to right. This is how I start these things. With a collection of the larger likely objects. And how it all turned out in the end. Missiles loaded at top. There's a small machine gun on the front. On its RH side you can just see the gun pod from a Phantom. The pod here on its left is fuel with a shield at front. The upper and lower 'discs' of the SRN1 are separated by 10mm with card and tank track. Cooling intakes for the anti grav. The staves on the front may be ex Sherman? from the Bocage area of France post invasion. Two more fuel tanks on the back. Above them the 'tail' came from a toy too. Airbrakes maybe? It's all card and greeblies, but for me, it has to look as if it might work. It's certainly well weathered! Scruffy, even. RH rear view. The MLRS box is mounted on a Tiger 88 breech and does elevate. The 'turret' can swivel about five degrees left and right. Multi Launch Rocket System. They were drop tanks. Primed and coloured with sharpies. Under the second cupola there would be a Driver using camera vision. Underneath, greeblies hopefully looking like they do something. Here it is with the previous Spindizzy. More pics of that one in the RFI & WIP sections. An in progress picture. You can see the various colours from the source items. The corner lift points are ex umbrella! I took about 8mm out of the T-55 turret centre to match the Tiger's diameter. Apply filler and rub smooth. The finish is old Revell acrylic from a small pot stippled over grey primer to get a 'cast' effect. And the other side showing the 88 mount. I enjoyed the build and may do another if I can get another unloved SRN1. I love the detail on the 'disc'. I still have the large thrust tubes etc from the SRN1. So they will appear on another build in the future. Many thanks for looking and please feel free to ask questions or leave comments. Well stuffed brown envelopes also accepted. Cheers, Pete 16
Yg Models Posted September 19 Posted September 19 (edited) nice tank, seems chassis is too tiny to support missile launcher. i like its green fuel tank at rear. Edited September 19 by Yg Models 1

But I decided that if you have an anti gravity drive then you may have mass, but the whole thing is effectively weightless. Added to that, a lot of the kreiger universe wouldn't work in real life. So I'm happy with the look of the thing. 1 1
Yg Models Posted September 20 Posted September 20 yes, when anti gravity active, you could ignore that. but when engine out, you still could ensure it won't turn over🤭 1
IMG1 Posted September 22 Posted September 22 Love the idea and the way you have combined both turrets, makes it look more Soviet and I can imagine them skimming over the surface guns blazing against some type of fixed structure using their speed to keep them out of danger. Looking at the rockets at first I thought that they were crayons (perfect shape and cheap) You just need to come up with their target for a future build. 1
