Romeo Alpha Yankee Posted September 4 Posted September 4 My next entry in to this GB will be an A340. I have had the decals for an Armée de l'Air aircraft for some time so I thought it was time to get it built. The Revell kit I am using is the 1/144 Air Canada A340-300 boxing so it will need converting. The conversion involves cutting two sections out of the fuselage for and aft of the wing as you can see in the picture above. I marked out the cuts and sections that will be removed First cuts done on the left hand fuselage section The off cuts are used to reinforce the seams when it is all put back together Both sides done, the new halves are not glued yet. I am just using each side to support each other so I get a straight fuselage. The cutting and reassembly took about an hour. 11
Romeo Alpha Yankee Posted September 6 Author Posted September 6 Thanks Chaps, Some more progress, copious amounts of glue, putty, sprue glue, etc added to seams and cabin window openings. This was all sanded back ready for fuselage halves being joined. The wings going together and adding the flap track fairings Wings done and lower fuselage panel going in Next was the nose wheel well and nose weight Fuselage halves glued and wings test fitted Size comparison with my Luftwaffe A340-300 12
Romeo Alpha Yankee Posted September 23 Author Posted September 23 Lots of filling and sanding has been happening lately, I think the fuselage is OK to go, anther prime and I should be able to lay some white down and turn my attention to the engines. Here is it with a A330-200 which has been on the SOD for some time. I will work on both for now and see if I can finish something. 5
Romeo Alpha Yankee Posted October 26 Author Posted October 26 This one has been pushed to the back of the queue for now, doubt it will be finished before the GB end date. This is how far it progressed. The fuselage was primed and more filling was required (A340 at the rear) This was rectified and a base white laid down. The wings have had a base coat of Boeing grey applied but I can see they need another coat before masking the leading edges. So I will get back to this when I can 5

I am also prepping for a model comp on the 8th and 9th and am travelling 1400km to attend, so I won't be back until about the 11th. I will see it I can get much done before departing and how the mojo is going and the other projects are travelling. 2
