You know you will eventually! Along with some special tools that are required to build it. Cheers, Bill 1 8

Love to see what @Gondor44 has got and I haven’t! This is an OOB build but the second build it going to be ‘bells and whistles’. 1
heloman1 Posted September 3 Posted September 3 Well, what can I say, it's a Wessex build. I thought I had made a post yesterday but it looks as though, I didn't send it! Anyway, what is not to like about a Wessex? The artist sems to have let his/her brush slip with the red tail band and WA codes, they should be upright! From the Airfix video, the hoist seems to be an odd shape! Colin FLY NAVY 3 1
Wez Posted September 3 Posted September 3 Aah, the venerable Walter, had one or two trips in the SH versions and once in a SAR version so I have fond recollections of these. We always imagined the Loadie's job was more akin to being a Stoker shovelling coal to keep the steam powered helicopter going... Mine's on order, yet to arrive but I'll be following your build in the meantime. 1 1

For instance Wessex based life IS a bowl of cherries. 11 1 7

All my life people tell me I’m easily distracted and they are right, but I need to stay strong and just stay OOB on this one but will definitely be going resin on the next because the improvement I can see against some of the kit parts are on another planet. Thanks for the heads up, now I must really stop talking and start doing or I’ll be faffing about with this one until Christmas! 3 5 1

Andrevell Posted September 3 Posted September 3 even before the war I started building a model from Matchbox, Italeri and Airwaves conversion kits. I wanted to build an early HU.5 6
Farmerboy Posted September 4 Author Posted September 4 Right then, some painting has been done! Medium Sea grey for interior, floor and bulkheads, base blue on the seats and a grey/green on the quilting, Detail painting to follow and then a flory wash to grime it up a bit, the troop cabin doesn’t seem to be designed for comfort!! Going for the folded option as Airfix offer both folded or flying, main reason for folded is that the ‘flight rotor blades’ although coming with a built in droop, are badly warped 😡. Nice feature on the straight folded blades is the cradle attachment is moulded on which should save a lot of fiddling later on. 19

An initial dry fit of @hendie's engine compartment is that it will fit. There are various parts of the fuselage that will need trimmed as there are supports for kit parts that get in the way. It's looking good to me, but it will be ages before I get around to fitting the parts together, as I have a P.1121 to get finished for Telford. Gondor 5 1
Farmerboy Posted September 7 Author Posted September 7 Been a bit busy on the farm, drilling grass seed for next years crop, but managed a bit of time at the bench. Working on the main cabin, some details painted and lap belts added from tape, flory wash to pop some detail, nice little kit so far. On th the cockpit next. 30 3
Steve Coombs Posted September 7 Posted September 7 Looking good! But it seems one of your seatbelts has gone AWOL - the fourth seat in from the left only has one strap. Or is there a cunning plan I don't know about? 1

jackroadkill Posted September 7 Posted September 7 A great start on what looks to be a nice kit. I've got one in my stash so I'll really enjoy seeing what can be done with it. 1
heloman1 Posted September 8 Posted September 8 I'm liking the detail in the kit interior framework and the heating duct. Looking good. Colin FLY NAVY 1
