FG2Si Posted September 11 Author Posted September 11 The tracks have the sag moulded into them. They're also keyed so that they all line up correctly. 2 1
FG2Si Posted September 12 Author Posted September 12 I got a bit more done tonight. I started on the turret. It all goes together so nicely. I added the upper fenders to the hull. I'm using a Def Models mantlet as the canvas cover looks nicer than the kit one. This needed a small bit of scraping to make it fit perfectly but that took no time. 8
Col. Posted September 12 Posted September 12 Nice progress again Carl. The canvas drape on the replacement mantlet does look good. 1 1
FG2Si Posted September 14 Author Posted September 14 I've been working on a ZM FW 190 at the same time as the Comet so it's taking a bit longer than I expected. That being said, this kit is really just falling together. Even the AM bits are going on without much fuss. Case in point, I've attached the replacement handles to the engine deck. They came off the printing base very nicely and just got glued in place. Same goes for the handles on the sides of the turret bin. I did lose a few and break a couple more but these ones were absolutely tiny. Oh and before I got to those, I added the main gun barrel and the aforementioned bin. 8
Col. Posted September 15 Posted September 15 It's good to see this project going so well. You look to be having fun with it Carl 1
FG2Si Posted September 28 Author Posted September 28 (edited) Thanks @Col.. I really have enjoyed the build. Work has been a bit hectic so I didn't get much bench time of late. The Comet is almost done. I painted the mantlet cover and added the last few turret parts. Next up are the decals and some weathering. Carl Edited October 18 by FG2Si Fix pic. 3
FG2Si Posted October 18 Author Posted October 18 The last bit of progress has taken me longer than planned. I've got a pair of 1/32 FW 190s on the bench as concurrent builds and they've sort of taken over. Anyways, I finally got the decals on and gave them a clear coat once they were dry. Thankfully there's not a lot of them so this didn't t take long. Now for the final assembly and some weathering. Carl 8
Col. Posted October 19 Posted October 19 It's looking good Carl and you've still got plenty time remaining for thise finishing touches. If that's the Fw 190 pair I can see in the background they look to be involved and highly detailed kits. 1
