To broaden it out further, they're thin (to non-existent) on Pre WW2 in general Kit 30057 is a 1/35 British Mk.IV Male Tank from WW1. But your point about pre-WW2 is generally well made. I imagine Tamiya are well aware what sells well domestically and internationally and adjust their products accordingly. 1 1
stevej60 Posted September 2 Posted September 2 If you look at say the last ten years they really don't release a great deal of anything their WW2 1/48 aircraft range in particular has remained pretty stagnant, but what's out there is still some of the best look at one of my favourites the P-51D it can be picked up for a mere £15 new imagine it as a Tamiya new tool and guess the price! 1 1
Col. Posted September 2 Posted September 2 There's three modern jet kits in Tamiya's 48th scale range that seem to have constantly featured in the catalogue since they were first released way back in the late 70s and early 80s, namely the A-10, F-15, and Sea Harrier, that must still be decent sellers even after all these years. 2

There's generally something like four or five 1/35 scale military kits, two or three 1/48 scale military kits, three or four 1/24 scale cars and one or two 1/12 scale motorbikes in terms of new tooling every year, which is more than most companies manage. It's obvious aircraft and ships aren't a major part of their release plans though recently there have been three F-35s in both 1/72 and 1/48 scale. 3

Once the house move (KUTAble for sure) is over, the Embraer is a shoe-in as well😉, which'll take me to FOUR😱, definitely time to ask for an extension! 2 1

Colin W Posted September 12 Posted September 12 an excellent thread @Mjwomack, thanks for putting this together and maybe we will see some of these other kits making an appearance later. 1 1
dnl42 Posted September 13 Posted September 13 Here's a new Tamiya release that just landed in my inbox. A 'rolling robot': https://www.tamiyausa.com/shop/educational-construction/rolling-robot/ 3

True to their roots in a way as the originals were wooden educational 'toys' 1 1

I always thought like @Col.: The best presents are bought for yourself by yourself. And I don't have any kids... No legitimate ones anyway, although the world is full of little JR look-alikes... Coincidence, no doubt. But briefing kids, no matter how thoroughly, does not detract from the fact that they are responsible for 99% of your grey hair......... Did you say extension? Great thread, by the way. JR 1 1

It's a tempting kit ... I've managed to resist buying one so far as I already have a couple similar Meng kits in the stash and I've got to resist something. 1 2
