SnøMotion Posted October 5 Author Posted October 5 (edited) Well, that happened quicker than I expected! I stuck everything together and clipped the bodyshell to the floorpan. I'll separate it again, when I come to add the badges and reg plates, but here are some shots of it together. These are probably the last shots I'll post in this thread, but I will give it a dust and rub with a cloth before the final photos! Thanks for following along and for the encouragement! Thanks to @Colin W, @Mjwomack and @Col. for hosting such a short notice GB, and to @Enzo the Magnificent for generally making GB stuff happen (I'm sure it's much more complex than I've made it sound!). It could be November or December before the photos appear in the gallery, depending on when the badges arrive. In the meantime, I need to put some time into the 240ZG! Martin EDIT [18/10/25]: Just realised that I never mentioned the lack of a rear window wiper... There is one in the kit, but no hole in the window to locate it, and the holy grail with Skyline GT-Rs of all (most?) generations is the N1 rear window. The N1 cars were supplied from factory for race prep, and so didn't include things like AC or a rear wiper. This meant the rear glass didn't have a hole in it for the wiper and looks nice and clean. So that's what I went with. Edited October 18 by SnøMotion 7 1 6

I'm not going to lie, when I saw the state of the clear coat, I thought I was going to have to buy another kit! So, I've leant a good few things during the process, too, which is always good! Col. Posted October 6 Posted October 6 That's looking like top work there Martin. The only thing I could identify to separate it from a real machine was the 'tip-toe' effect of the tyres. A wee flat spot or photo on a soft surface would complete the effect

Yeah, I need to drop the tyre pressures a smidge Martin 4

I thought it was a bit too bright when I first did it, but I think it works at this scale. I've also found an alternative supply of badges, so I may be able to expedite the conclusion. Martin 2
FG2Si Posted October 18 Posted October 18 Wow, that looks great. The R33 is probably my least favourite of the R32-R35 GT-Rs but yours could change my mind. Carl 1

Carl Thanks, Carl! It does seem to be the least popular, possibly because it’s bigger than the R32 and R34, but I’ve always quite liked its looks. It’s the R34 that I like the least (and yet I built two of them ). Martin
Rob Sutto Posted October 19 Posted October 19 Just been catching up with this one Martin. Another stunner in a fab colour, excellent finish 1

It’s far from perfect, but I’m pretty happy with it My first experience with Hobby Design metal decals and it was a bit intense! I was surprised that they’re water slide, I was expecting a transfer film. Once you’ve lifted the decal from the backing, it sticks hard to the first thing it touches, so you have to be right first time. For the grille badge, I actually stuck the Hobby Design decal to a ZoomOn chrome decal, that I’d coloured black. Then I re-applied the transfer film over the top and used that to position the decal on the grille. Popped a little Kristal Klear on the back for good measure. Martin 2
Col. Posted October 19 Posted October 19 I started reading our GB page this morning at the Gallery thread and was therefore treated to seeing your finished model. Stunning result Martin 1

It's just that I've had the 3D printer running continuously since Friday morning, so I figured I might as well get as much printed as possible. 1
