Ray S Posted September 14 Posted September 14 This is my Komatsu G40 Bulldozer from the Imperial Japanese Navy in 1/48 scale. It was a quick build by any stretch of the imagination, but I have to say it just fell together. The build log (all three posts on it!) is here if anyone has a spare twenty seconds or so: Have a go at one, I'm sure you'll enjoy it as much as I did, and I'd love to see one weathered and set in a diorama Ray 26 3
Colin W Posted September 19 Posted September 19 What better to showcase Tamiya than a 1/24 car kit. This build will be of the Tamiya Toyota Celica kit. My wife and I had a red one when we moved to New Zealand in 1996 so this is a model our old car. A great kit, perfect fit and a great looking model if I say so myself. Much shinier than our old one it has to be said! Pictures from my phone as we're off on holiday tonight and I'm a bit short of time! Thanks to those who commented along the way on what was quite a short build. I'm looking forward to seeing a whole heap more models here dedicated to the memory of Shunsaku Tamiya Build thread is here Cheers Colin 17 8

Muchmirth Posted September 26 Posted September 26 1/48 Humber armoured car: with added stowage (mostly black dog) and a small base. The tamiya figure is very nice and fits perfectly. A great little kit, decals courtesy of @R T Fishall to depict a vehicle used in Normandy by the 3rd infantry division. Painted in disruptive/mickey mouse pattern using mr surfacer and a rattle can. Thanks for looking in and thank you to the hosts for putting it all together @Colin W @Col. and @Mjwomack 18 10
Olmec Head Posted September 30 Posted September 30 (edited) Tamiya 1/72 Corsair F4U-1D - VF-84 flying from the USS Bunker Hill early 1945 A very nice and relatively easy kit to build, the detail is very similar to the 1/48 Tamiya kits. Build out of the box but with a bomb added! The decals are Techmod. I used them to avoid having to do the yellow nose, which was later added to VF-84 aircraft and is on most builds of the Tamiya F4U-1D. Thanks to the organisers for putting on the GB at short notice, it shows how much Tamiya have produced over the years. I tried to take the pictures in natural light for the Glossy Sea Blue to be consistent, not that it worked very well. But it was very bright in the Pacific! johnlambert Posted October 4 Posted October 4 Here is my finished Tamiya 1:35 Simca 5 German Staff Car, built as a civilian version. The paint scheme was inspired by a photos of a Fiat 500 (which was essentially the same car). I've used some aftermarket photo-etched parts from Aber, but not as many as I thought I would. The number plates, windscreen wipers and particularly the hood mechanism are the best parts. 20 6

Jari Lehtonen Posted October 8 Posted October 8 Hi All, for my (first?) full build in this GB I selected the 2002 vintage Gloster Meteor F.3, built to represent EE239 stationed in Melsbroek, Belgium in early 1945. This is one of the four first Meteors to be sent to the continent, and like the other three, was painted white all over. These Meteors flew no combat missions, they were used to familiarise the ground troops to Allied jets. The build thread is here: Some pictures of the finished article: The model was painted and varnished using Vallejo products, and weathered with Tamiya Panel Line Accent Color (black) and Flory Models Grime. I need to practice some more with Flory washes, since I'm not fully happy with the final result. Many, many thanks to our GB hosts and all who followed the build here! /Jari 25 3

Keeff Posted October 14 Posted October 14 1/35 Austin 10hp Utility truck - the 'Tilly' 5th Battalion, Dorsetshire Regiment, 43rd (Wessex) Infantry Division, Normandy, 1944 For my build, I chose the Austin Tilly. One of Tamiyas newer releases, but an enjoyable build nonetheless. Build log here: Thanks for looking! Keith ☺️ 22 4
