Too many times I have hmmed and hawwed and hesitated over getting something that was of interest but thought it best to pick up next time I was in the store just to return a week or even a few days later and find it gone. And a Gecko Cruiser A10 kit somehow found it's way into that same online shopping cart Welcome aboard. Pass the word around and send any of your friends over who might have an interest or simply want to lend their support. cheers, Graham 1

Ahem, sorry to report that another Border Crusader Mk Ii has been removed from the herd. I'm afraid we may be creating a disturbance in the Border models ecosystem 2
Robert Stuart Posted August 24 Posted August 24 Just ordered a Border Miniatures Crusader Mk III from the Tank Museum shop, which has a reasonable supply of the later mark. Mk ll's are in limited supply there. Link: https://tankmuseumshop.org/search?type=product%2Carticle&options[prefix]=last&q=crusader 2

ColonelKrypton Posted August 27 Author Posted August 27 Bumping this one again, rattling the chain, stirring the pot. Only 5 more needed to get this one into the Bun Fight. Anyone with even an inkling of AFV interest in the Groups Builds should jump on in and add your support. AFV subjects need all the help they can muster to get into the Group Build Bun Fight and onto to the next Group build calendar. Remember, the first big hurdle is getting into the Bun Fight. Lending your support is this or any other AFV subject in the Britmodeller Group Build world is important to all those with such an interest. Go on, jump, add your support, let's keep building interest in AFV Group Build. This year it is the Cruiser A15 Crusader. Next year? Maybe another Sherman or Tiger or Panther or ? that will need some support to get through to Bun Fight. cheers, Graham cheers, Graham 3
szeregowy Posted August 28 Posted August 28 I've recently deserted to the civilian side, but will happily return for a Crusader build, so sign me up please. 2
Milan Mynar Posted August 28 Posted August 28 I'd love to join this group, I have an unassembled Crusader tank kit in storage. 4 1

IanC Posted September 1 Posted September 1 If this happens, I'll be building the Airfix 1/32 Crusader. I remember getting it for my birthday in 1976, not long after it was first released, and practically finishing it on the same day. I've been itching to do it again for old time's sake. Note to self: stop living in the past...😄 3

IanC Posted September 1 Posted September 1 36 minutes ago, Enzo the Magnificent said: Why? That's a large part of the joy of this hobby. Oh, absolutely! It was definitely meant tongue in cheek. Mind you, it's not just nostalgia. The complexity of some modern kits is such that I find myself increasingly drawn to models of the past for entirely practical reasons. 😀 1

I find the worst culprits are AFV Club and Gecko with their tank tracks. They are just not fun. 1

SleeperService Posted September 3 Posted September 3 Add my name to the list please. I have a couple of likely subjects lined up. Would the Cavalier be accepted? Based on the Crusader hull and running gear with a new front end based on the Centaur/Cromwell. Intended as a better Cruiser it overloaded the running gear so it failed even more than before which is saying something. The lineage is from the Crusader rather than the Cromwell group which resulted in the Liberty engined Centaur run as certain manufacturer refused to use the Meteor and was allowed to get away with it...... 1

Done, welcome aboard. 2 hours ago, SleeperService said: Would the Cavalier be accepted? Hmmm, good question. I had to do a bit of research on this one. The lineage seems clear but it does get muddled up in that confusing period were the A24, A27L, and A27M - Cavalier, Centaur, and Cromwell came into being, at least confusing to me. I would say no; part of a Cromwell STGB perhaps. I will let the omnipotent @Enzo the Magnificent Group Build Moderator Supreme rule on that. Perhaps next year there will be proposal for a Cromwell STGB. 1

It would definitely be in for a Cromwell STGB though. 1 1
Richard S Posted September 3 Posted September 3 Please add my name to the list, I have a few in the stash, a couple of Border Models and several of the Italeri versions. I’m leaning towards an early Mk.1 but there’s plenty of time to change my mind. 1 1
ColonelKrypton Posted September 3 Author Posted September 3 We have now reached that magic number of 25 of interested members and over the first big hurdle into the Bun Fight. Be that as it may, don't let that stop anyone else with an interest from speaking up and being added to the list. Thank you everyone who have stepped up with their interest in this STGB. over to you @Enzo the Magnificent cheers, Graham 2
