We have all had a lot of fun over the years building Tamiya models so were saddened by the death in on 18th July of Shunsaku Tamiya, son of founder Yoshiro Tamiya and Chairman of the Board of Tamiya Corporation. As a way of showing our appreciation it would be great if we had a 'Tamiya Group' build of the kits he helped create for us over the years. Naturally this would be any subject, genre, scale or type. Ships, planes, cars, motorbike, racing cars, figures, tanks, dinosaurs, animals, guns, take your pick. Predominantly plastic models but also there were several ranges of motorised walking animals and educational 'toys' which can also count. Use of other paints, glue and masking is optional.

I would suspect the vast mayority of us have several kits in the stash available.

The RC cars and slot cars might be a stretch for Britmodeller but lets see.

Who wants to join?

Well as I actually have some kits in the not-a-stash stash, I'll put my head over the parapet!

I thought Tamiya would have been second in the stash count after Airfix, but they're only 4th which seems strange somehow

Well that's encouraging, 6 in 1 hour.

Thats probably because you keep building them?

Count me in, several suitable motorcycle kits in the pile, not adverse to buying more. 🤣

Got loads of options for this, so it’d be rude not to :like:

I think I should join too. Tamiya makes great products - not so many 1/72 aircraft kits, but their putty, compound, masking tape, glue, weathering powders, paints, varnishes and some instruments such as twizzers - I use all that.

I do not have a single Tamiya kit in stash but always wanted a Skyray. So....

Are you sure about that?   Is it not the Fujimi kit?  Or maybe Rareplanes...   :)

Actually could be a skyray the cutlas may be a revell but it’s definitely a 1950s era odd jet fighter.

Tamiya's Skyray is an excellent kit.

No we're not! We're at twenty, but you didn't include me on the list. Was it something that I said?
