glwanabe Posted October 13 Author Posted October 13 Between work, and other life events, progress has been slow since last post. Also, getting into the site has been difficult. Hope to have some progress soon, and get this kit finished before end of the build. 2
wimbledon99 Posted October 14 Posted October 14 Fingers crossed that free time is kind to you. There are still 4 weeks to go and it would be great to see this one in the gallery; especially will all the hard work you’ve put in to date. Hopefully you’ll get her there 1 1

I'm pretty close. If my work schedule works in my favor this week, I'll ha e a couple free days coming up to get stuff done. The site has cooperated with letting me in yesterday and today. 2
Franz75 Posted October 14 Posted October 14 I know the feeling — I'm swamped with work too! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. 3

The site seems to be working better as well. 1
glwanabe Posted October 23 Author Posted October 23 Got the reshoot of the topside done today. Back on dayshift tomorrow through Monday, then a couple days off. Couple overtime days next weekend, then I have a week off. Should get the camo applied next week. Shoot the leading edge stripes and fusalage stripe. Should finish up right at the last minute. 10
Wings unlevel Posted October 23 Posted October 23 Great to eee the big beastie back on the bench. Looking good, and all downhill from here! 2

Last few weeks have worn my behind out. Came off night shift Tuesday morning and it's been a rough turnaround this week. 1
wimbledon99 Posted October 24 Posted October 24 She does looks good! And it’s great to hear she might just make it across the line. Hope things go your way 🤞 1 1

glwanabe Posted October 28 Author Posted October 28 SUCCESS!! We had a microbust hit, and power is out, but drive in we must. A solid step forward toward completion. Little bit of overspray to clean up, but I'm satisfied with this. The Wife remarked when talking about the roundels. Won't be long till you put the targets on. 🤪 ID stripes coming soon. Hopefully tomorrow. 7
Wings unlevel Posted October 28 Posted October 28 Looks great! That would have been a lot of paint! 1
glwanabe Posted October 28 Author Posted October 28 Parts going on, no time to waste. Landing gear, exhaust. Prop still has a bit of work to be done. Lights and glass need attention. I can make it!! 7
Rabbit Leader Posted October 29 Posted October 29 Looking great Jeff, also looks as if it’s taking up quite a bit of bench real estate! Nice progress. Cheers.. Dave 1 1

Building a lot of the smaller pieces and having them ready to go helps the process. She is a big girl, and side by side with the Airfix kit is quite the formation. Gotta find suitable tarmac for parking. 3
glwanabe Posted October 29 Author Posted October 29 She is up on ber own 2 feet! Leading edge yellow is hand painted. Airbrush would not spray again. And made a mess everywhere. Getting a little frustrated with it. We continue on! The flight line 2 ship, 7

Thank you, Making corrections to mistakes. My leading edge stripe was too big. Retaped, scrubbed the yellow off, and reshot some color. Will do the same for the bottom tomorrow. Probably clean up the sky band a bit more tomorrow as well. Gunsight went in this morning, foot step, pilot tube, landing light lenses still need to go on, but those can wait. Taking the Wife back to the airport in the morning so she can get back to Seattle. Our Daughter broke her arm pretty bad. Probably surgery next week with a plate installed. She will probably be gone 3 weeks to help her. Planning for a Sunday finish, but we'll see how far a solid day of work tomorrow takes me. Undecided if I should shot a clear coat on this before decals. 1
