She's a witch!!

I've worked with Earth spiritualist before. Not a problem.

Did some masking taping and got the upper grey surfaces rattlecan painted. I shot the whole topside grey. I'll pencil in the camo lines and see about getting some green shot possibly tomorrow.

I managed to knock one of the stabilizers loose applying tape. It's glued back tight, but now has a small gap.  So one more thing to fix.

Tried to get this curve as straight as possible

I'll have a little work to do on smoothing this seam out a bit more.

It's mostly a decent finish, with just a few small areas that are a little inconsistent.

Looks awesome and I can just imagine the huge size and presence it demands. Definitely a show piece and I’m now thinking something for Airfix to consider into the future, perhaps a new 1/24 Hurricane Mk. IIc / IV, like how good would that be?

Cheers.. Dave

Paint is going down beautifully, this big beastie is looking the business. Given its size each coat must take a while?

This beast did use up a bit of paint.

I penciled on camo sections to be painted, and then my airbrush quit.

I have it in pieces doing a thorough cleaning, and it still is having back pressure issues.

It spit a few blobs of green on the grey,

And is only spraying intermittent now.

Also having issues getting on the forum, and posting due to host timeout issues.

Back to work for the weekend now.

If I can't get airbrush issues sorted I still have spray green and stencils to get the job done next week.

Nothing worse when your AB packs it in mid-build, although you probably wouldn’t notice it if you weren’t modelling! Hopefully you’ll be back on track next week. Cheers and good luck.. Dave

Now that is annoying! Good luck getting it sorted - for such simple devices troubleshooting them is never as straightforward as you think it should be!

Like I told my Wife, well at least I'm getting an education in tearing this thing apart, and what makes them work.

Based on what I've learned and how it has backpressure I need to adjust the screw inside the body.

Ive already ordered some more cleaning tools, and the screwdriver that will reach inside to adjust the screw.

Cutting out some stencil patterns is easy enough, it just takes a little time.

I'll be back on track in no time.

That's always a benefit. I noticed my SMS Dragonair AB sounded a little off the other day and wasn't really spraying as neatly as it normally does. I took apart the two front nozzle pieces, let them sit in a small jar of Tamiya's Airbrush Cleaner overnight and low and behold it fixed my issue that easily. I have no idea what's in this stuff, however it really has saved my 'backside' on more than one occasion.

Cheers .. Dave

Got the airbrush put together and it worked well spraying alcohol through it.

Still having issues logging onto the forum, with timeout issues.

Hopefully will be able to post a completed paint job soon.

Tamiya's Airbrush Cleaner . I have no idea what's in this stuff

I read somewhere that it’s the same solution as the ‘extra thin cement’. Either way, it certainly does shift anything and everything!!

More paint arrived. Will be stripping the blotchy green, re spraying the upper grey, then stencils and rattlecan the topside.

Off for a few days, so hope to make some progress.

Hoping I can access the site enough to get my postings in. Seems like you need the correct window of opportunity to do so.

Stripped off the upper surface paint to redo it. Scrubbed it down and it's drying now.  Re spray should go on well enough.

Gotta move to a new image host.

Hope you get that sorted. Flickr seems to be pretty robust. Looking forward to seeing your renewed progress.

It’s probably going to be a daft question once you answer, but what’s the tape for just on that section of the fus?

Gluing the crash panel back in place. It was only lightly tacked in place for painting.
