Hopefully got the fuselage together, a slight gap at the front end which requires a bit of clamping. I will find out tonight how it has gone.

That's some serious clampage, Mark! Hopefully all is well when you release them

Things do not look too bad with the clamps removed, a little filler here and there. My main worry now is that the canopy fits.

Still struggling to get the fuselage sanded down. I think that I have it then find another area that requires attention. See behind cockpit. After getting the fuselage together I found that there was a slight mismatch of the halves in certain areas which I think is causing my problems. Although not photoed here getting the engines fitted to the wings before fitting the wings to the fuselage was a very good idea. Doing if afterwards would have left very little room to work in whilst filling and sanding the area.

You're definitely getting there with it, Mark, even if it does like to challenge you along the way

Good news for once. This weekend I managed to get the wings on. Yet again though more filler required. The rod sticking out of the L/H engine is to fill the hole that Special Hobby put there, which like @Dennis_C I cannot find in pictures.

You're certainly getting there with this one, Mark, even if it is taking some time to beat it into submission

I think that I am almost ready for some paint. I fitted the rudder, the wrong one first time. I did look at the instructions, but I somehow read these wrongly, but to be honest I could not really see the difference. I have also fitted the canopy. One thing that went slightly wrong is that I managed to remove the nose U/C during the sanding of the wing to fuselage joint. I will leave it off now, because it was a clean break and if it came out, it muist be able to go back in. I will also leave aff the tailplanes as they are easier to paint of the model and so is the model.

N version has the stabiliser installed higher on the tail and hence the engraving for non-movable part of the rudder is higher too. But the shape of the rudder is the same. On the inside of the tail there are two marks for drilling the holes for the stabiliser pins. Lower is for A and B and higher one is for N.

Thanks for the confirmation of things Dennis. I did drill the higher hole as according to the instructions.

WOW!!!  :yikes:  Am amazed to see one of these being built, though it doesn't appear to be the simplest of builds, but you are doing a great job with her.

I few months ago I was extremely luck to find this one (along with a 1/48 Ourngan), been searching for ages and was very reasonable priced as well. Can imagine it'll be a bit challenging as well!

Good luck with the rest of the build, will be following with interest.

@Dennis_C is making very much better fist of the kit with his build.

Yeah, but mine stalled a bit. That Tamiya groupbuild and excellent Tamiya kits took me away from Vautour... I do have some updates though and hope to make some posts next week :fingerscrossed:

And @Jabba yours turns out very good and on time!

Help.  I am having a problem using the new hosting site Hobby Photo Host, in that when I try to upload my photos the firast thing it says is that it is too big (Actual 5148 x 3888, Max is 4096 x 4096). I have never had an issue with this before so I do not know what I am doing wrong. Could some one plaese explain in the very simplest of terms (Yes I am a real luddite when it comes to computers and such like) as I am to do so that I can replace the old photos and then add some new ones.

I think that I am sorted now Craig as I have been able to post some photos in my Phantom build. Hopefully I will be reposting the photos here this afternoon.

I have painted the sand colour on the upper surfaces. I will have photos soon.

You may have noticed that all the photos that were on imgur have now reappeared on this thread. This is a big thank you to @Steve R who imported all my photos from there, actually using me as a guinea pig for this.

As mentioned earlier I have applied the sand paint to this model. I have also started to apply the green, which looks a little on the light side to me. Hopefully I will have this done tonight and will be able to post those photos tomorrow.
