PHIL B Posted July 30 Posted July 30 Hi Colin, Special Hobby's new 1/72 Mosquito PR.XVI seems to have all the parts needed for a PR.34 but I think it only has the regular bomber transparency with the flat bomb-aiming panel. I reckon there are plenty of Mossie fans who will want to build a PR34a with the smooth clear nose. Would you consider re-releasing the nose transparency from your PR.34 conversion set? The PR.34a was used by BEA for their gust research aircraft and RG177 , the last operational RAF Mossie, was a PR.34a. Just a thought. Phil.
Colin @ Freightdog Models Posted August 15 Posted August 15 Hi Phil, Thanks for the message. I'd be happy to sell my PR.34a clear nose separately, however I'm not sure if it will fit the SH kit yet, will will try and compare them when I get a chance. Colin

Colin If it fits the Airfix PRXVI/BXVI kits, it won't fit the SH kit. The Airfix kit has the correct fuselage cross section, the SH kit fuselage is unfortunately far too wide, giving a circular cross section where it fits the fuselage instead of the correct oval shape. For a PR34 I would go with a full Freightdog conversion set on the Airfix kit with a Barracuda replacement undercarriage. 1
Colin @ Freightdog Models Posted August 18 Posted August 18 Thanks Dave, that saves me opening my Special Hobby kit up. Yes, my nose was designed for the Airfix kit. I should have some more conversions to go with the Airfix release, that I held off finishing as the SH one was coming, but these will be going ahead now. I will announce them nearer to Telford.
