Brilliant. The best Beverley I've seen.

I know the kit too well. It makes Classic Airframes shake and bake.

That is one to be really proud of.

Dick

If you get the chance put it next to a Herc. It's a monster in comparison.

That's fabulous Neil, it looks really attractive in that scheme, I wish I'd done mine in it!. Love the exhaust staining too,

Cheers

That is a fantastic result, thanks for the comparative shots too, not just for the size but also how completely anachronistic the Beverley looks against pretty much all you put with it, even the Carvair. :)

That's great! I really like the Beverly. I built the Welsh Models kit of it many, many years ago, but it certainly doesn't hold a candle to yours.

Neil,

Lovely work - the contrast of the beautifully crisp scheme plus the weathering makes for a most pleasing finish,

Cheers,

Thanks Dick, it was your great build that spurred me on, it came just at the right time after seeing the real thing!

I've seen @Viking Johns photo's of both together, the Herc looks tiny in comparison. I'm wanting to do more in this scale for space reasons. Quite fancy the Argosy, Hastings, Hercules, V-bombers and some of the large American props

Thanks. I haven't seen the Welsh kit in person, but from photo's I've seen on the internet, the Mikromir kit looks like a better kit to work with.

Thanks for all the kind comments guys. Whilst it isn't the easiest of kits, I've enjoyed it more than some that go together with ease. I guess it's the sense of satisfaction in having to put your skills to the test.

Hi John, be great if you do another, you'll do a great job and seeing the two together would make a brilliant photo!

Have you been looking in my stash????

I think we both have the same idea. It's a space thing.

The Hastings keeps calling to me. :D

You’ve made a superb job of this one Neil.  The exhaust staining, the overall finish, it all looks great!
I need to look into those marker pens, could be a real time saver….

Great looking Beverley, I think in all honesty you do the best weathering on your models than many other modellers

That is absolutely brilliant, as are the others used for comparison. I love the accuracy of the paint job at this scale, and the weathering is a masterclass.

The Beverley is a huge but strangely beautiful aircraft (casts mind back wistfully to the one that used to be outside RAF Hendon in the '70s)

As for the BAF cargo, another weird but oddly pleasing shape (casts mind back wistfully to Southend Airport in the late '60s and early 70s watching these being unloaded/loaded

Brilliant ! 👍👍

The model looks more like 1/72 than 1/144 - kudos to your skills...

...and I'm pretty amazed at the size comparison shots.

Great viewing pleasure all round.

Ha ha, great minds think alike! I think the Hastings is going to be next for me too, although I have a few airliners in this scale already in the stash. That said, where does logic ever come into this hobby? 🤪

Thanks Dave. I bought the full set at Telford last year and keep finding uses for them. The paint goes down really well.

Thanks Kev, it's the bit that I enjoy but always trying to learn from others, especially when it comes to oils.

Thanks Barry. I remember the Beverley outside Hendon too, it was such a shame when it went, this was where my interest came from. I never got to see the Carvairs but the aviation sights and sounds we took for granted in times gone by are nothing but fond memories now 😢

That's a beautiful result!  I hadn't appreciated how large the Tristar was until I saw that side by side comparison!

Very nice as usual Neil.

I'm another fan of that particular colour scheme too.

All the best Matey.

Some of the finest exhaust weathering I’ve ever seen in any scale, let alone 1/144.  Fantastic build.

Simply outstanding! You've taken me right back to my childhood, visiting the Historic Aircraft Museum at Southend and seeing Carvairs on the apron at Southend Airport!
