amos brierley Posted July 31 Posted July 31 Hello everyone. Here’s my suggestions. I’ve read the instructions and these are my interpretations and recommendations for appraisals. First up is this 1/72 Hobby Boss Kamov Ka-27 , built O.O.B , it’s a lovely easy build, , and those contra-rotating blades make the model compact. And there’s 1/48 and 1/35 options, the latter is a monster. Another 1/72 option, Academy F-117 Nighthawk, this one has been properly modded-up with details. But, this can be a quick build, a Quinta cockpit and closed bomb bay and a lick of the ubiquitous black, easy-peasy. Thanks for looking. 😉 15
81-er Posted August 1 Posted August 1 You've interpreted the rules perfectly, Amos, those are both cracking builds. Especially the Kamov James 1 1
Wings unlevel Posted August 1 Posted August 1 I think half my builds would qualify for this GB! 😆 I might not get to add to the collection here as I’m over hosting the Hurricane GB ATM, but I’ll try! Here are few from my shelves (all 1/72): A blitz build Revell/Italeri YF-23 Academy F-14A My Fine Molds Phantoms A GWH F-15E And, probably my favourite, a Fujimi A-6E. 14
bianfuxia Posted August 3 Posted August 3 Like many of us, I suspect, I have tons of twins sitting on the shelf. Here's a few: These are my 1/72 twin engined fighters. The 2 seater F-18 next to the desert camo F-5 is my oldest proper model - I made that in 1990. The most recent are the three F-15s, finished earlier this year. Now some military twins in 1/200: The Noratlas is the old Heller kit in 1/160. The Atlantic is also Heller, the rest are Hasegawa. And here's my big collection of 1/200 airliner twins. I have in mind to make an airport diorama something along these lines. Those gates are just test-prints which is why they don't quite align. There's a parking area for retired planes at the front. Once I do this properly I think it will look pretty cool actually. Especially viewed at tight angles like this one above. Other than the JAL 773ER and the JAS MD-90 I've been on each of those with that airline. I know it's highly unrealistic that a LATAM A320 would ever be at the same airport as a LH 735 ...but that's ok. This is my alternative universe airport. There are many more in the stash to contribute to this project so I will need four times the real estate, too. 13 1
Dennis_C Posted August 3 Posted August 3 As noted by others - tons of option suit this GB and I do have something on the shelf to inspire others: Time to add something else to the shelf! 11 1
Romeo Alpha Yankee Posted August 4 Posted August 4 I shall follow bianfuxia's lead and clump all my previously build twins into a few group shots Starting with a 1/72 jets Followed by some more 1/72 jets and props and finishing with my 1/144 airliners 11 2
Christer A Posted August 5 Posted August 5 Joining in here to say that it is possible even for me to finish a model or two... Starting with a Revell 1/72 F-101 Voodoo Classic Airframes 1/48 deHavilland Hornet And finally a Valom 1/72 Bristol Brigand By pure coincidence that one was also from Operation Firedog... 13
Ghostbase Posted August 8 Posted August 8 To accompany my Eduard German Marine Tornado IDS in this GB, this is the 1/48th Revell Luftwaffe Tornado IDS which I completed just over two years ago. I was really pleased with the end result though it was hard work 😊 Michael 20221120_154408 by Michael, on Flickr 10

rob Lyttle Posted September 28 Posted September 28 I've got quite a few done that fit the spec. Here's a couple of Airfix Vintage Classics with a Civil makeover, And a Beagle 206 from the Bassett kit, Islander in 1.72, quite a tailsitter, And finally got my hands on a Valom Islander in 1.48, mahoosive tailsitter! Scratched metal main gears to cope with the all-up weight... Probably be another Scillies Skybus livery. First Skybus was the DHC6 Twin Otter... ... and a float plane version- I'm on single engined types at the moment, but who knows what's next ⁉️😎 Plenty of time, yeah? 10
