This is the ancient Contrail vacform fuselage mated to the even more ancient (1959) Airfix Lancaster wings and tailplanes.  The exhausts are resin from Paragon and the propblurs are done using artwork by James Perrin.  It should have an H-shaped Rebecca antenna each side just aft of the cockpit but my attempts to make them were clunky.  So, I chickened out and omitted them.

I struggled with which particular airframe to represent.   Most photos I found of RAF machines with type D roundels bore a squadron crest beneath the cockpit. MW295 was one of the few I found without a crest.    Here she is, as delivered to Changi sometime in the late 1940s for use by the Far East Air Force (FEAF) Communications Squadron. You can find a photo of her in this scheme here: https://www.aerialvisuals.ca/AirframePh ... ial=102304.

Later she gained the name Ascalon II with a beautiful paint job comprised of white fuselage topsides, broad blue cheatlines and red spinners but I don't have the skill or patience to try that.

In 1957, she was sold to commercial operators and finally was written off in 1959, while serving with Persian Air Services, after a crash in Kuwait.

Apologies for the poor quality pics - I had to use an old phone and these were the best of the bunch.

There us only the head on pic visible on your post. You are a brave man to tackle the Contrail vacform and the rivet ridden Airfix Lanc. Probably as much work as my Mach2 one from 2020

Yep - I pressed 'submit' by accident but I fixed it now.

What a beauty to behold!

I can just imagine the hard work involved in bringing that together.

It looks fantastic! 👏👏👏👏

This must have been a labour of love, but you achieved a brilliant result.

Well done!

That's most realistic depiction of prop blur I've ever seen.

All thanks to James's artwork.

That or just being stupidly stubborn!

That's a lot of work represented. And work very well invested. Lots of silk purse out of two sow's ears.

The prop blurs: does he sell those? what is it, a clear decal applied over an acetate disc?

Fantastic result, lots of hard work on your part, I'm sure but it certainly paid off. 👍

The rotation indicated on the propellers is one of the best attempts I've seen, congratulations on a beautifully presented build.

10/10 👏👏👏

Were any fingers lost during the preparation of wings?  The prop blurs are very artistic.

Thank you.

James Perrin does post here on BM and I think he probably still makes the artwork available for free.   I print it directly onto  this stuff:  overhead projector sheets for inkjet using my old inkjet and use a compass cutter to cut them out.   James did them for 3, 4 or 5 blade props.  I just resize them to match whatever I am building.

Thank you.   Credit for the props goes to James Perrin.

Wonderful job on this bold project, and it appears you've installed crew figures in the cockpit, too!  As all the others have said...it's nice.

A great subject but that must have been really hard to put together. Well done.
