Should be interesting! These Soviet jets are so distinctive, aren't they? Looking forward to watching your progress.

Cheers,

Goodness me that looks like a lot of parts even for 1/48 scale, should look amazing when finished.

Best of luck

Cheers Pat

a BMK= export version it will be.

8DZK7Dl.jpg

just found that KP/ Kopro/ Eduard provides you with 2 lower wing options... the more slick one for the BMK, the onw with a bump whrer the undercarriage retracts is for the short field cpaable, skid euipped Soviert or Warsaw Pact airfores --> hence the BMK

this will mean special attentian when mounting undercarriage, and respective doors.

and PE I have, maybe a bit too much, especailly when also using the Neomega cockpit... lets see!

i am also thinking about a reskit nozzle...... :wall:

the said BMK lower wing halfs

detail is surprisingly good, plastic ist thick and soft though..... ;)

worked a bit on wings and fuselage

t2p5pYg.jpg

enging louvres from quickboost look great, but need to be blended in better. (of course they are slightly small and a not a drop in replacement.... :wall: )

fopr the BMK the wing root has to be modified according to the instrictions as the fairing is designed for the larger BKL skid equipped landing gear

bulge gone on the fuselage

Neomega resin cockpit is beautiful and full of detail :)

base blue grey paint is no, now the details need to be painted as well :)

I do think that some of these boxings are a bit borderline in their 'full disclosure'- imagine buying this as an Eduard Limited Edition and finding you'd actually got an OEZ from 1989🤔

My fault for jumping here from a Tasman build thread- I thought those were kit parts with 'minimal' flash😱

😀

I think when they were released it was perfectly clear and transparent. Those Limited Edition kits were all, I do not think without any exception older kits with fantastic decals and PE and Resin improvements.

Lately also newer plastic parts got this treatment.

I also have an OEZ Su-25, Academy MiG-29+Su-27, KP Su-17/22, etc... still those were the best awailabld back then!

We got a lot of new molded kits in the last 10 years it seems, by Trumpeter, GWH, Kittyhawk etc!  😉

Terrific detail, and it all seems to fit well too. Looking forward to seeing it all together!

I built the OEZ Mig-21 back in the late 1980s. It was a bit of a fight but it was the only game in town for a late generation airframe in 1/48th scale. How times have changed 😀

I never built the Su-7 but I always fancied it. I got the Mistercraft boxing last year and it's in the queue, so watching this build with great interest.

some more PE work

the airbrakes wells actually would benefit from complete replacement if shown open, (Eduard does provide a flimsy PE option) but actually I wanted them closed. As those airbrakes have sharp, edges, in contrast to the plastic ones with poor fit and undefined shape I decided to go for the PE shape instead...
