CJP Posted June 17 Posted June 17 I'm looking at 1/48 Fairey Gannet decals & there does not seem to be any sheets in 1/48 scale that include the decals that delineate the de-icing areas on the tailplane finlets - I'm wondering about how I could make these - anyone have any ideas? Chris
Navy Elephant Posted June 19 Posted June 19 You could use a fine (0.25mm or smaller) Pental Pointliner. This would give you the equivalent of a 12mm/0.5inch real world line.

Thanks Navy Elephant - I'm currently playing around with Microsoft Paint & have drawn some shapes up to print on clear decal sheet - I will keep your suggestion in mind if what I'm fiddling with does not work out - it would be nice if a decal sheet maker made a 1/48 sheet for the AEW3 that included these de-icing area markings. Navy Elephant Posted June 27 Posted June 27 I can't fault your efforts with Microsoft Paint and clear decal sheet. I'm guessing that for Sword this was in the 'too hard' - adds too much cost category. When all is said and done Sword gave us excellent value for money with a kit that I don't think anybody else, but maybe Airfix, will ever release. So I am grateful. 1

Thanks Navy Elephant, I am very happy with the Sword AEW3 Gannet too - I thought it would have been a very popular kit, but I have only heard of a couple of builds here on BM including yours.
