ChicagoTom Posted June 29 Posted June 29 (edited) Oh how I love the idea of this group build! Here are a few of mine. AMT (also released by ESCI) 1/48 P-36: IMG_1185 by Thomas Test, on Flickr Hawk 1.72 F4D Skyray (I could not resist markings that share my last name - it used to be "Testa" when my ancestors came across the boat in the 1920's): P1010346 by Thomas Test, on Flickr Jo-Han 1/72 P-47 (with a Hawk 1/48 P-51D lurking in the background, which is an excellent kit for its era): 12 16 09_0796 (Large) by Thomas Test, on Flickr Lindberg as a "what-if" Air National Guard F-91 Thunderceptor: 12 16 09_0811 by Thomas Test, on Flickr F-91 Thunderceptor4 by Thomas Test, on Flickr I was surprised that Nichimo was not on the list, they are pretty obscure here in the states. Here is my Claude, a kit from the early 60s that is quite lovely: PXL_20250128_045645210 by Thomas Test, on Flickr And here is a Lindberg 1/32 Buick Century, a 1972 I believe. I used to own a 1973 Chevy Monte Carlo, and this is a very similar vehicle: PXL_20250110_041349790 by Thomas Test, on Flickr Edited June 29 by ChicagoTom 21 1

It is not without the bounds of possibility that a moderate number of people are rather eagerly anticipating this GB; it's great being a Host and seeing all these beauties! 4 3

That's a superb selection, Tom, thank you so much for sharing them it would be hard to choose a favourite, so I'd have to say, "all of them!" 1 hour ago, Mjwomack said: it's great being a Host and seeing all these beauties! JOCKNEY Posted July 1 Posted July 1 Well as one of your hosts it would be just plain rude not to pop a few builds on here Supermodel Re2000 Falco 1972 Blitzbuild LS A6M2-N Rufe 1964 Pegasus Fokker D.XXIII 1992, a hateful kit ! Cheers Pat 12

Redstaff Posted July 9 Posted July 9 Looking through my stuff, I've built very little that would qualify for this GB, in fact all I can find is the AMT Oldsmobile 442 that was brought back from New York a few years ago along with the Corvette I'm building now when my wife and daughter went for a few days for the daughters 21st present (I stayed at home to look after the dog, a much better option than trailing round NY with 2 women on a shopping mission IMHO 🤣 ) 11 1

TeeELL Posted July 28 Posted July 28 Kitmaster ‘City of Truro’ - converted to EM-guage (consequently very much a non-runner). An important model for me as my Grandfather used to drive this loco on ‘Specials’. Aeroclub Gloster Grebe, representing an aircraft flown by 29(F) Sqn, part of my collection of aircraft flown by that Sqn. 8 1

Snafu35 Posted August 10 Posted August 10 Hello, @JWM: These are truly unlikely models in the collection you're showing us here. Incredible, well done! Here is my collection of 1/48 scale models from lesser-known manufacturers: AMT A20J Havoc 1/48: the AMT A20G model was released in 1996, it does not count. AMT F7F Tigercat 1/48: This is one of the few models in my collection on which I painted the markings using stencils. FineMolds D4Y3 Judy 1/48: FineMolds D4Y2 Judy 1/48: HOBBYCRAFT Piper PA18 1/48: HOBBYCRAFT Piper Cherokee 1/48: HOBBYCRAFT Ar234 B2: HOBBYCRAFT F4U 1A 1/48: HOBBYCRAFT F7U Cutlass 1/48: HOBBYCRAFT F8F1B 1/48: HOBBYCRAFT ME109 G14 1/48: HOBBYCRAFT ME109 G10 1/48: HOBBYCRAFT P26A Peashooter 1/48: LINDBERG F8U Crusader 1/48: Built in the 1980s, I painted it with a brush and added ESCI decals. I attempted to scratch build by reproducing the ventral fins and partitioning the wheel wells with cardboard! still in working order today! NICHIMO B5N2 Kate 1/48: another attempt to paint the marks with stencils, and covering the wing folds with Evergreen. OTAKI F4U1 A Corsair 1/48: @Icarus: I had never noticed the spelling mistake on the instructions: OTAKI is even spelled with an H! Last, OTAKI P47D Thunderbolt 1/48, with markings from Haegawa: That's enough, I think. Isn't it? Regards, Eric-Snafu35 10 1 1
rob Lyttle Posted September 1 Posted September 1 What a splendid assortment of builds and subjects from the outer fringes 🤩 Here's one of mine-- I've a few other contenders, in fact I'm currently doing a paper and card Polish kit of an Irish traditional sailing boat... But here's my Pyro Mercedes SSK Sportwagen from a while ago, Now happy in the company of 2 SSKLs by Matchbox. Happy family 5 1 1
