Oh how I love the idea of this group build! Here are a few of mine.

AMT (also released by ESCI) 1/48 P-36:

Hawk 1.72 F4D Skyray (I could not resist markings that share my last name - it used to be "Testa" when my ancestors came across the boat in the 1920's):

Jo-Han 1/72 P-47 (with a Hawk 1/48 P-51D lurking in the background, which is an excellent kit for its era):

Lindberg as a "what-if" Air National Guard F-91 Thunderceptor:

I was surprised that Nichimo was not on the list, they are pretty obscure here in the states. Here is my Claude, a kit from the early 60s that is quite lovely:

And here is a Lindberg 1/32 Buick Century, a 1972 I believe. I used to own a 1973 Chevy Monte Carlo, and this is a very similar vehicle:

It is not without the bounds of possibility that a moderate number of people are rather eagerly anticipating this GB; it's great being a Host and seeing all these beauties!

That's a superb selection, Tom, thank you so much for sharing them :) it would be hard to choose a favourite, so I'd have to say, "all of them!"

Well as one of your hosts it would be just plain rude not to pop a few builds on here

Looking through my stuff, I've built very little that would qualify for this GB, in fact all I can find is the AMT Oldsmobile 442 that was brought back from New York a few years ago along with the Corvette I'm building now when my wife and daughter went for a few days for the daughters 21st present (I stayed at home to look after the dog, a much better option than trailing round NY with 2 women on a shopping mission IMHO 🤣 )

CH113 Labrador Hobbycraft, devenu CH46 Sea Knight :

XFY-1 KP :

XF5F-1 MPM :

XF85 Goblin MPM :

Et Martin B10B William Bros :

à suivre avec 1/48 ?

Salutations,

Eric-Snafu35

Kitmaster ‘City of Truro’ - converted to EM-guage (consequently very much a non-runner).  An important model for me as my Grandfather used to drive this loco on ‘Specials’.

Hello,

@JWM: These are truly unlikely models in the collection you're showing us here. Incredible, well done!

Here is my collection of 1/48 scale models from lesser-known manufacturers:

AMT A20J Havoc 1/48:

amt_a210.jpg

the AMT A20G model was released in 1996, it does not count.

AMT F7F Tigercat 1/48:

amt_f710.jpg

This is one of the few models in my collection on which I painted the markings using stencils.

FineMolds D4Y3 Judy 1/48:

finemo10.jpg

FineMolds D4Y2 Judy 1/48:

finemo11.jpg

HOBBYCRAFT Piper PA18 1/48:

hobbyc10.jpg

HOBBYCRAFT Piper Cherokee 1/48:

hobbyc13.jpg

HOBBYCRAFT Ar234 B2:

hobbyc12.jpg

HOBBYCRAFT F4U 1A 1/48:

hobbyc15.jpg

HOBBYCRAFT F7U Cutlass 1/48:

hobbyc16.jpg

HOBBYCRAFT F8F1B 1/48:

hobbyc20.jpg

HOBBYCRAFT ME109 G14 1/48:

hobbyc17.jpg

HOBBYCRAFT ME109 G10 1/48:

hobbyc19.jpg

HOBBYCRAFT P26A Peashooter 1/48:

hobbyc18.jpg

LINDBERG F8U Crusader 1/48:

lindbe10.jpg

Built in the 1980s, I painted it with a brush and added ESCI decals. I attempted to scratch build by reproducing the ventral fins and partitioning the wheel wells with cardboard!

still in working order today!

lindbe11.jpg

NICHIMO B5N2 Kate 1/48:

nichim10.jpg

another attempt to paint the marks with stencils, and covering the wing folds with Evergreen.

OTAKI F4U1 A Corsair 1/48:

otaki_10.jpg

@Icarus: I had never noticed the spelling mistake on the instructions:

otaki_12.jpg

OTAKI is even spelled with an H!

Last, OTAKI P47D Thunderbolt 1/48, with markings from Haegawa:

otaki_11.jpg

That's enough, I think. Isn't it?

Regards,

Eric-Snafu35

What a splendid assortment of builds and subjects from the outer fringes 🤩

Here's one of mine--  I've a few other contenders, in fact I'm currently doing a paper and card Polish kit of an Irish traditional sailing boat...

But here's my Pyro Mercedes SSK Sportwagen from a while ago,

Now happy in the company of 2 SSKLs by Matchbox. Happy family
