Part nine has gone over 40 pages already, keep on with those great spots here.....

To kick this one off, a tidy E30 Touring.

Always loved the proportions and overall design of that Touring series. Timeless.

A visit to the Postal Museum in London had these treats:

1935 Morris Minor made custom to Post Office specifications.

Motorbike for telegrams delivery. There was no information on year or model so perhaps the collective brain here will be able to identify it?

And a 1983 Dodge Hi-Line.

The BMW 3 series E30 Touring and the 7 series E38 are the only BMWs I like.

And great choices they are too!

The 2nd generation E34 M5 has also aged well. It has to be in the right colour though.

I'm intrigued by the roof, what's that all about? My dad had a Dodge minibus, not only did it look like a Weeble, it cornered like one too :D

I passed a pristine mustard yellow Capri Mk.I on a trailer heading north on the M6 yesterday 👌

BSA M20, the bike that won the war!

As well as thousands in military service they were used as postal bikes during WWII.

That one looks like it may have been 'civilianised' post-war as many were.

Too many shiny bits... but it looks great!

It did look really great. Sadly not displayed in the best way and poorly lit but it still managed to stand out 🤩

Yesterday, a group of us from Bomber County Minis attended the Tattershall Thorpe village fete and classic car show, hosted on the grounds of the The Blue Bell Inn, the owner of which is a keen classic car enthusiast and owner.

Amongst the many classics there, here are some that caught my eye.

spacer.png

A goodly line up of Mk1 Escorts - should please Keith

spacer.png

A Cooper T82 F2 car from 1966 - not something normally seen at classic car events.

spacer.png

A remarkably original Triumph TR3

spacer.png

This Royal Mail van.  The owner told me it took him three years to rebuild it from what he described as "a box of ferrous oxide on four wheels".

spacer.png

There were several Jeeps.  The one in the foreground took part in Operation Husky, the Allied invasion of Sicily in 1943.

Ferrari SF90

And finally, spotted across the road from the pub;

A split rear window VW Beetle!  Shame it wasn't pushed across the road to the show.

Thanks for looking.

Trevor

So the pub would have been the Bluebell. It dates back to fifteen something or other. That Beetle has been at that house for years . I went to the Hemswell meet and there was only one Mini!

Dodge Monaco in Carlisle:

That is one impressive car! Not necessarily a beauty but definitely with presence. Have never seen one in real life but it looks huge. Inconspicuous in Carlisle it is not.

Maybe a Dodge Carlisle would fit in better in Monaco ...

Saw a few cool things today, but this was the only one I got a poor photo of. On the M56 heading towards Manchester.

A '55 (or '56) Chevy station wagon known as the Craftsman I think. Pretty much a four door Nomad.

Yeah, it had a ‘55 nose and Bel Air badges, but I knew it had too many doors for a Nomad

On the second Saturday of the Month there is a classic car meet on the old parade ground at the former RAF Hemswell. On the A631 twelve miles North of Lincoln.

I went armed with the camera yesterday and found quite a few to lust over. Lots of pictures, if it's too many please let me know, Mods.

KwhLMIG.jpg

XR2 on pepperpot wheels. The driver is only the fourth owner. And it's original paint.

UPMFPxo.jpg

It said Ginetta in big letters on the bonnet.

IyzCmuM.jpg

yCtbNxO.jpg

Chevy stepside. I think it's a '55

DjEz564.jpg

And the Ford equivalent but a bit older. '52 perhaps?

4MqWqJn.jpg

I saw this one last month. It's an Austin with Sierra or Mondeo running gear. And macabre accessories.

2Le62fT.jpg

A Mercury I think.

btv0sw0.jpg

This one was parked up along with others (mostly MGB's) from a Lincoln car club.

YnyFTUx.jpg

Wolseley Hornet. Cosmics, roll cage flat paint and rough bodywork in places.

7SlfHAb.jpg

The Vauxhall Monaro,  along with an Anglia Estate.

5YdJv39.jpg

A Skyline R something

9EJ43wT.jpg

The model T was a surprise. Triumph Acclaim next to it

PvsEiSx.jpg

A tough looking Dodge. Early sixties?

qQzjJ7M.jpg

TR4A and a Rover 75

zJ4DdLU.jpg

gYglWB3.jpg

Toyota Soarer. The rear bumper a little rippled, but 160,000 on the clock. The engine on tickover was almost inaudible.

And that's your lot. Though there were others too. I hope you saw something you like. We'll see what turns up next month.

'Tis a 55 Beauville methinks. 'Tis very nice too.

Matt

It's a '55 Handyman wagon, Bel Air trim level.  Beauville was a Canadian Chevrolet name, like Parisienne with Pontiac.

They look cleaner with the headlamp covers closed.  I guess they're stuck open...  😑
