lerouxc Posted June 10 Posted June 10 For my next model I had to build a VW golf Estate in 1/48 scale but decided not to do it with a kit, or buy the complete item. So I ventured out to do it. (first time doing something like this). It all starts with a picture. and then to get the body shapes and sizes. I used paper cuttings to figure it out (Unfortunately my skills does not extend into mechanical drawing). https://photos.google.com/share/AF1QipOwcdyPUWvCjOXaW3Q7jh5W_cr-HPikUC_mYoVlcZ9PyDmpDulqjqv10oKek-7iqw/photo/AF1QipMtEtgwHwR5g4AnjxgbsrQcl4uotRgyEUnzhxls after preparing the rough frame I started to cover it with clay. https://photos.google.com/share/AF1QipOwcdyPUWvCjOXaW3Q7jh5W_cr-HPikUC_mYoVlcZ9PyDmpDulqjqv10oKek-7iqw/photo/AF1QipMFwzi9SgDYfDCN-w1YxIbo_4FTi9XAP5r31ath after much sanding and sculpting it started to take form. https://photos.google.com/share/AF1QipOwcdyPUWvCjOXaW3Q7jh5W_cr-HPikUC_mYoVlcZ9PyDmpDulqjqv10oKek-7iqw/photo/AF1QipMajeXU_yNXwK3ZlC37DbIROcSpmuYTOsREH71Y I know its is not perfect, but it looks lovely in the completed model of a caravan and car at a camping site next to a river. https://photos.google.com/share/AF1QipOwcdyPUWvCjOXaW3Q7jh5W_cr-HPikUC_mYoVlcZ9PyDmpDulqjqv10oKek-7iqw/photo/AF1QipP3tjTutEodiYfN4FZCvrQlS9LtBm3w4sTyzTk9 1
