For my next model I had to build a VW golf Estate in 1/48 scale but decided not to do it with a kit, or buy the complete item. So I ventured out to do it. (first time doing something like this).

 

It all starts with a picture. and then to get the body shapes and sizes. I used paper cuttings to figure it out (Unfortunately my skills does not extend into mechanical drawing).

after preparing the rough frame I started to cover it with clay.

after much sanding and sculpting it started to take form.

I know its is not perfect, but it looks lovely in the completed model of a caravan and car at a camping site next to a river.
