Why do I have a stop hand signal on my profile avatar?

Noticed other modelers don't have this on their avatar. What also does one need to do in order to get a colored roundel?

The hand icon indicates that you recently joined the site - one of the better corners of the internet

 

The coloured roundel appears when you have made a number of posts.

The roundel indicates "rank"

Thanks! I misinterpreted the wave for stop. Lol. This is such a good site. Much to learn here.
