I'm trying to draw up a Fiat/Lancia twin cam engine as used in the 131 Grp.4, Beta Montecarlo Turbo, 037.

I had started , but my pics weren't matching what I saw.

It turns out that for the 131 they redesigned the head to have a narrower included valve angle.

wide angle engine:

Narrow angle engine:

I'm looking for something like this, but with the correct engine (or precisely head).

I think the Delta S4 also used the engine. There is an image on a Road and Track article that shows a section of the head.

It doesn't show the full engine though.

not seeing it, just a car shot and a video (good video though)

From other pics, that seems to have the wide angle head again (it has the 'scallops' on the inner edge of the cam covers)

It is because the serial 131 engine had 8 valves - the racing engine had a 16 valve cylinder head.

Thanks, that has given me another search term!

In total, it won eleven manufacturer titles in the World Rally Championship between 1977 Fiat 124 Abarth and 1992 Lancia delta integrale, the Group 5 Manufacturers' World Championship

Lancia Beta Montecarlo Turbo (400 hp) in 1980 and 1981, as well as other national titles. The Fiat Twin-Cam engine is thus the most successful rally engine in history.

I've been checking out the available aftermarket, and it looks like GPmodelling got it wrong for the 131, and the 037, their engines being fitted with the wide angle head.

I've always thought their engines looked too squat.
