RichD1 Posted June 2 Posted June 2 I've just taken delivery of an Amazon anglepoise type LED desk lamp. It's meant to be 12W but the light output is absolute rubbish, so it's going back. I've got a 13W LED bulb in our patio and that illuminates half the garden. What are your views on the old fashioned anglepoise lamps with LED bulbs? Several for sale on Marketplace in my area for £5 to £15. My workspace is about 600mm x 400mm so would this be adequate? Most appear to have E27 screw fitting which there are several wattages up to 15W. What K colour value is recommended for model work?

Black Knight Posted June 2 Posted June 2 I have and use over my modelling desk a 55 + year old Anglepoise light I use a 20w LED white colour-balance light in it Works great 1
RichD1 Posted June 4 Author Posted June 4 Just another thought, does an angle poise make too much shadow? Should I try and stick with a stoplight. Might be able to make a shelf above the work surface to mount it under.
Hunker Posted June 4 Posted June 4 I have one on the right side of my bench and it's not large enough to position right over the work without it being in the way. It works well enough but there are times when the shadows on the left side bother me. I've always been meaning to drill into the concrete wall in front of the bench to mount it where it will be optimal but procrastination is my middle name 😟
