Video Editing Software

Looking for a bit of advice. 

I'm thinking about getting started with making some videos. Capturing the images isn't a problem but I'm very out of touch with video editing software.

I think the last one I used was the old Serif MoviePlus, the free version. I know that's been discontinued so I'd be interested to know what other content producers out there use and would recommend.

I have quite limited video making experience, but the editing program I use is Shotcut. https://www.shotcut.org/

They have a rather nice list of tutorials. https://www.shotcut.org/tutorials/

They also have an online forum. For an amateur amateur such as myself it does OK.

There's a free MS Windows application called Clipchamp which is very intuitive and simple, yet very useful if you can do without the fancy Hollywood-effects. There are multiple tutorials on YouTube to give you an idea of what it can do.
