kjang12 Posted Friday at 05:40 PM Author Posted Friday at 05:40 PM Here is the missing text for the photos. My first post and now have figured it out! Hello Everyone, This is my first post to Britmodeller and I thought you might be interested in seeing my HMS Bluebell that has been converted to radio control. I decided to build the old Matchbox kit pretty much out-of-the-box warts and all. I have a soft spot for classic kits and building them as they were designed does have a special charm. My intent was to use as few aftermarket bits as I could. In that regard, for strength (being an RC model) I purchased some brass stanchions, and 3D printed a few items from .stls found on the web, such as a new flag locker, Oerlikon and Lewis guns. I left off the rigging because all of the deck houses had to removable to access the motor inside. All of the RC gear was salvaged from old models. I still have to build a proper cradle for the model for pondside, and I'll get around to that eventually. I'm rather pleased with how it turned out. Cheers, Kerry Vancouver, Canada 6

Flintstone Posted Saturday at 08:03 PM Posted Saturday at 08:03 PM Very impressive, I am sure it will look great on the water!
kjang12 Posted Monday at 01:50 PM Author Posted Monday at 01:50 PM Thanks all for the kind words. A friend has a GRP copy of the kit hull that he has gifted me. I guess I will be doing another some day! Warm regards, Kerry
Donald Posted Monday at 07:08 PM Posted Monday at 07:08 PM It takes a brave modeller to expose such a lovely, well-built model to the elements. I hope your voyages stay clear of pond weed, ducks, swans, stone-throwing kids, etc.
