Dean1700 Posted May 7 Posted May 7 Does anyone know of any posts about building the Revell 1/72 Space Shuttle (NOT the Monogram version)? I've got one on the "bench" at the moment and wondering if anyone had detailed their builds on here at all. Thanks
Dermo245 Posted May 7 Posted May 7 Hi Dean, Sorry if you've seen this before but there's an in-depth video build series of the 1/72 Revell Shuttle over on YouTube by Philip Segal aka Sprueverse. Have the Monogram one myself.....someday I'll have the courage for it! Cheers, Dermot 1

Most everything I've seen refer to the Monogram kit but there's not much love for the Revell kit unfortunately. And if you want THE best reference for the Monogram kit check out the work of John Chung aka Scale Scriber (Facebook). Incredible. 1
Caerbannog Posted May 21 Posted May 21 I have both Revell and Monogram in stash. The Revell one was supposed as a donor kit for wheels, undercarriage, figures and decals. Although I have both kits I did not look at them for a long time and cannot say what are the diffeernces. I seem to remember Keith Mc Neill said that he found the Revell kit matching better to belly photos of the Space Shuttle when he did his excellent orbiter tile decals (position of the U/C bays) and such. Excellent reference material can be found here: https://www.spaceinminiature.com/books/sim3.html https://www.spaceinminiature.com/books/simtr5.html But the SIM on the Space Shuttle does not include a build of the Revell 1:72 kit either.

Incredible. I've just come across his Facebook page today. Has to be some, if not the, best model work I've ever seen, makes my work on the Monogram kit look like crap... 1
