Hi everyone, thanks for all the lovely birthday wishes. Life continues to be a battle for me. Two days ago I was diagnosed with Isocyanate Asthma after years of being treated for pneumonia every month with no answer to what was causing it. For years it was assumed that my immune system was compromised but all along is turns out it has been the toxic build up of Polyurethane resin particles on my lungs and in my system. So my hands are shot, my spine is shot and now my lungs are shot also. My new reality in my 55th year involves fighting for breath. A nice shiny machine arrived today courtesy of the Hungarian health system. If you use resin do not like me wear a mask 90% of the time, wear one 100% of the time. And if like me you cast resin be aware that splashes onto your skin causes the toxin to be ingested. I did not know this. I have had splashes on my arms and legs and face for decades without thinking it was anything but annoying to peel off! My stupidity is only matched to my fighting to breath. It is hoped that zero exposure to these toxins from now on will help at least make me more comfortable but the damage is done. I am very sad as I say goodbye to a large part of my hobby and fight yet another problem. So I am no longer able to cast a single item. 100,000 hrs of designing decals and PE has left me unable to hold a steering wheel for more than a few minutes and casting resin for 25 years has left me unable to breath. The decals and PE and smaller resin parts and 3D parts that are done for me out of house will continue to be available from Hannants in the UK and Hannants also supply Super Hobby in the EU. Aims as I started it is over I am sorry to report. I can do nothing more. Thanks

So very sorry to hear your news.  I am really sorry we have never met but i am one of the guys out there that use your stuff and have a few 110 and 88 conversions in the stash not to mention the odd 109 fix, Gauntlet prop or Hurricane tail wheel all for when I get retired - a date I've overshot by 6 years so far !!  All the same - having met or not - I do send you my very best wishes for your health and hope that life gets a bit easier for you.

Take good care of yourself

That's awful news, I'm so sorry John.

Hopefully your plight will warn others of the dangers.

John, that is terrible news.

Thank you for all the effort you put into making modeling for us more interesting, and more fun. The price you are paying is awfully high.

Hope you will find a cure or alleviation.
