AndyF Posted March 31 Posted March 31 A while back, my work colleagues and I were discussing wierd stuff, like you do, and I mentioned going on one of the cross channel hovercraft when I was younger and how I had the Airfix model of it. Fast forward a few weeks and I arrive at work to see two very smug faced colleagues who have only gone and bought me the SRN4 kit for my birthday. I don't know how much they paid but I suspect it was a lot. I remember the kit being a bit of a mare all those years ago but I was appreciative and thankful but also a little worried. I was now compelled to actually finish this kit that I remember was.... err... what's the word? Terrible. So I bit the bullet and here it is, still needing some finish fettling but to all intents and purposed, it's finished It's not perfect, I knew it never would be but it's as good as I can get it. And it was just as I remembered it. Bloody awful. Incidentally, I could never understand why you get an option for an open ramp ie loading or unloading but not an option for deflated skirts. That doesn't really make sense. 29
Alan P Posted March 31 Posted March 31 Looks absolutely fine to me, for such an old kit, really well done 👍 The thing with the deflated skirt is annoying to this day, recently got the Gecko 1/35 ACV (Vietnam era) and it has the same problem...not sure how to display it.
jenko Posted March 31 Posted March 31 Brilliant. Used to go down to Pegwell bay to watch them while bate digging. Good old days. Sadly missed. Dick
Gimme Shelter Posted April 4 Posted April 4 Great work - and lovely to see some truly classic British plastic now built - and what a truly British subject to model too. A kit renown for its roof and skirt fit issues - you have done a splendid job there Remember the old anti Flymo advert words ' why bover with a hover' ? So good to see you could be !
