Clearly you haven't tuned into BBC Parliament recently even CC makes more sense than that rabble, which makes me the font of all wisdom! Not that I wasn't anyway. @general melchett for Prime Minister says I; Beah!

I'm now off to see if I can find my box of sub-assemblies for the Canberras that I so carefully packed away.

Best of British, oh tentacled one. Round one of the aftermarket arrived today (Alleycat stuff) courtesy of Models4sale with rounds two and three via Hannants arriving tomorrow and Monday...and that's before all the scratching and rescribing starts! Mem's going to have a duck fit when she looks in her stamp book.

Well I think you've made that perfectly clear Martian, but for anyone in any doubt this should clear things up nicely.....

Unfortunately not, he used the last of it on a night out with the boys and to clear up a particularly vicious louse infestation he caught while holidaying in a Welsh dung hole.

Cranberries! And will there still be jam for tea?

(Misquote of Grantchester by Rupert Brooke. It should be honey. But Darling might think I'm referring to him)

So, having put in quite a bit of work on the Has.3 ad the HU.5 builds I decided to give the Revell HAS.1 some TLC. This was a lesson in how we have come to rely on drop in aftermarket accessories. Everything here needed to be scratch built (a bit like the rest of the model really). This did have the completely unforeseen effect of reminding me that there is after all some advantage in being nearly as old as @general melchett (only about 100 years difference in our ages) what I mean is that when we were learning modelling, there was no aftermarket. If we wanted extra detail it was "out plastic stock and fuse wire and get scratching". Although it was time consuming, there was something both therapeutic and nostalgic in going back to those days.

Anyway here is where we are at with the flight deck and seats as of close of play today.

So true. I still model like that though! If I can't make something for my scratchbuilds, I utilise  plan B and raid the bits boxes.

Cry Havoc and damn the resin!

I'm from the same era, so you echo my thoughts exactly on scratch building - lovely work on the Revell Wessex

Well there's a first! Sensible bloke and CC in the same post, even if it is one of his own. I wonder if Mme CC would recognise this person? :hmmm:The computer at Bletchley Park doesn't; it has blown all of its fuses trying to reconcile the conundrum and has been sent to see Gag Halfront for intensive therapy.

Today I bit the bullet and tackled one of the bits on the HAS.3 that I was not looking forward to; the mesh areas I decided to use the plastic mesh supplied with the Italeri kit on this model and will be using photoetch on the HU.5.

Fortunately, the kit supplied mesh responded well to VMS slow acting CA, forming a strong bond. I used masking tape to create templates for cutting the for cutting the mesh:

Too tired to do any more no but will get something up later this week. :sleep_1:

Neat work with the mesh Martin. Not the best material for the job! However, I think you are going to have to back track with the engine intake. Firstly there is no mesh in the two outside portions of the frame. Only on the Ozzy Mk21's. Then before you position the holes for the UHF aerials, please check there positions. Italeri are wrong with what they recommend!

Just trying to be helpful!

Thanks Colin, I could have sworn I saw a picture with the side panels in place. If not, I am going to have to live with it as it is as it is as there is no way I am going to be able to remove the mesh without damaging the kit part. I haven't decided yet as to whether to fit the "Parrot Beak" but if I do, that will go a long way towards hiding my error. I would claim that it  goes to show that I am only human but if I did I would most likely have @Mike on my case for misrepresentation.
