Oooh, if I can go later than the 70s then I’d quite like to go Buick Grand National. Porsche 928 is a great shout, though

I've got plenty of options for this one so you can count me in.

If only

My current thinking is a '66 for '67 Shelby? Do they qualify?

Shelby’s Mustangs yes because theyre 2+2 seating. The A.C.Shelby Cobra doesn't,which is a shame really. They are one of my all time favorite cars. It would qualify as a 2 seat roadster or sports car.

I had those in my head when I wrote not all of them had V8’s. The Grand National was the 1st car to beat the A.C Shelby Cobra’s 0-100-0 record if memory serves.

Or even… the soon to be re-released Tamiya Mercedes 500 SEC :bounce:

As I'm not willing to pay the 100€ for the BMW 635 CSi Gr.A they are asking today, I sincerely wish they're going to re-release it too!

Hi Dennis

Would a 2+2  E-Type or Aston Martin DB5 qualify?  If so, I'm in please.

Yes they would as they were 2+2, rear wheel drive, and had high output engines. Same as the Porsche 928 2+2. Looks like a sports car but the main difference is the technical ability to supposedly fit 4 people. Usually two children as thats about how much room these cars had in the back seats.

Even with my aversion to 1/25 scale, there are 1/24 scale options for this

And, I see Revell are supposed to be releasing both a 1971 Plymouth Satellite GTX and 1964 Plymouth GTO in 1/24 later this year. The Satellite could be an interesting build, sign me up :like:

I'd guess the GTX will be the current kit without the F&F branding.  That *cough* Pontiac GTO was one of the better Monogram efforts.

For some reason, I thought there was something different between upcoming GTX release and the F&F one, but you’re probably right.

Welcome to the build, both cars would make for fine choices.

I've got a couple of Mustangs in the stash, so I'm in under the pony car rule. I don't know if I've got anything that qualifies as a proper muscle car, but I do have a habit of looking for Monogram kits on Ebay so I might end up acquiring one...

Welcome to the car club Richard. A Mustang is a fine choice but as you say you never know what might show up.

I am relatively new to the forums and I am still finding new things. This group build is one of them and as I have a few suitable kits in the stash, this would provide me with the prod needed to start and then finish one of them. Count me in

Hello Andy… welcome to the build and seeing as you're still relatively new to the forum. Let me give you a quick rundown on how this all works. If you've heard it already my apologies in advance. We need to find 30 or more member showing an interest to move into the November vote (bunfight). It’s only an interest nothing committing you to anything. In November every member of the forum is allowed to vote (not all do). Usually about 7+ votes for both single-type and Standard group builds. The top 7+ builds in each category will then get assigned dates in 2026. So you have plenty of time to figure out exactly what you want to do.
By the way if you're crazy enough to suggest a build you may do so as there are no restrictions on that. The only hard rule is the subject cannot have been used in the previous 3 years. There is also an archive of past group builds to review in case you're curious. Or you can ask most of us here in the group build section have been here for years.

Very helpful guidance @Corsairfoxfouruncle thank you. I won’t be suggesting builds yet but I am looking forward to voting in November

Never heard of the movie “Ability” and cannot find a reference in McQueens filmography ? Can you provide a link, in the interim I have added you to the list of interested members.

This is why I cannot stand autocorrect. I typed "Bullitt" but my phone changed it.

I thought it was a typo/spellcheck but had to ask in case I was wrong.
