Nalanji Posted March 1 Posted March 1 (edited) Dear All, For my first post, I'm presenting a 1/48-scale HUS-1A in the colours of the VX-6 based on the MRC kit. To go with it, a set of ResKit wheels, Eduard Model Accessories PE dedicated to the H-34 and... quite a lot of Evergreen ! The side tank was taken from a model of the Corsair Heller and modified with copper wire and Evergreen. I hesitated for a long time before making a final version that was totally different from the well known photo of the King Pin. After a long search on the net, I found two usable images of the aircraft wearing a fairly red coat (MRP-2) and orange covers (MRP-232 International Orange). Quite a few difficulties in the assembly, but a pleasure to make. Thank you in advance for your comments and feedback. See you soon on the frequency ! Edited March 1 by Nalanji 44 8 6

The work you did was well worth it. Superb results. You have done just the right level of weathering for my tastes and the extra little details really add to the end result. 1
Parabat Posted March 2 Posted March 2 Outstanding, the colour variation at the door, the weathering, looks amazing. 1
VG 33 Posted March 2 Posted March 2 Hello This is very. ice and I love this overall red colour. Patrick 1
heloman1 Posted March 2 Posted March 2 Very neat build, congratulations. I have the kit in my stash but I think it has shape issues when viewed from the front. I prefer the Italeri kit, although this is not without it's own shortcomings! Coin 1
Farmerboy Posted March 2 Posted March 2 Stunning first post, she’s a beauty, looking forward to more of your work, love it! 1
Bandsaw Steve Posted March 2 Posted March 2 I’m in Christchurch NZ now, home of the main support base for Operation Deep Freeze, so when I saw the heading I had to look. This exceeds my expectations! What a fantastic model. Congratulations. 1
Sky Keg Posted March 2 Posted March 2 This HUS-1 is completed with flawless accuracy and precision. It`s easy to like this helicopter. Mike 1
Marcello Rosa Posted March 2 Posted March 2 If I ever build this kit, I hope it will be half as good as this one. Well deserved 100%! 1
72modeler Posted March 3 Posted March 3 Lovely! Loved all the small details added to the kit! My favorite helo, too! Mike 1
