Phenomenal work.  One of the best Connies I’ve ever seen.  Your KC-97 is incredibly sharp as well!

From what I read in the progress thread: impressive work on resizing/relocating those fuselage windows 👍

Great job!

I’m blown away.  I probably would have chickened out and left the windows as is!  How did you cut the 5mm masks?

Great looking Constellation there

Outstanding work, and it's amazing how little size difference there appears to be between the KC-97 and C-121.

You know that if you're having difficulty finding space for them, you can put the models in a small room with the kitten and...they'll become smaller.

Excellent work Eric! The diorama and vehicles are the icing on the cake. The antennas with insulators are very nice. It’s been a real pleasure watching your build, and these excellent photographs.

Well done

Cheers

Outstanding Eric.  I`m like Ad-4`s post above and never would have dared tried to make that relic of a kit into a work of art.  My compliments on the beautiful and most accurate result!!! :worthy:

I love it, Eric! Somehow i missed the build evolution. I will need to go back and look at it.

I think the antenna work is excellent and i like the replacement engines. Connie powerplant units went through a ton of design changes as the plane evolved, and i think this is the first one i've seen with early cuffed propellers.

Good morning all,

Here is my model of the MATS Lockheed C121A Constellation proposed by Heller, which I have just built as part of the current Heller Construction Group.

conste66.jpg

I modified the original Heller model a little by engraving the panel lines, changing the engines and wheels to add-on Plus Model, modifying the heat exchangers on the right wing, and engraving a loading door. But the decals are original! (I simply changed the s/n from 48-613 to 48-616 to match the model I reproduced)

I'm showing some detail photos, there are more on the construction thread.

It's a great model, but I've got even bigger ones in 1/72 scale:

Where am I going to put all this? :o

This is an example where making kit corrections and throwing aftermarket at it .....really paid off!

Eric- Where am I going to put all this?

Mike- In my display case!

An incredible model! Flawless and realistic finish, and a beautiful diorama- now you need to do the Heller C-118 to go with it! :goodjob:

Hello modelling friends,

@Ad-4N: I cut them to the diameter of a butcher's block and made them this way:

conste12.jpg

I pierced a circle of the required diameter in a sheet of plastic, then turned a needle through it. This needle cut the tablet out of the 1mm thick plastic.

I then forced these pellets onto a forest handle to give them a convex appearance, making them easier to glue.

@72modeler Oh No! I'll be strong! :rofl2:

Regards,

Eric-Snafu35
