Popular Post mathy Posted February 17 Popular Post Posted February 17 Hi all, my latest build is this L-20A Beaver in 1:48. It is the new Dora Wings kit, that have a lot of fine details and a good fit. Used some decals (Caracal Models) for a 50th FBW aircraft based at Hahn AFB. 58 1 12 5
Keeff Posted February 17 Posted February 17 Outstanding work! Looks real on the first few pictures! Keith ☺️
Celestialsphere Posted February 17 Posted February 17 Nice model of a well used bird. The oil streaks look great. Cheers Andrew
Autle Posted February 17 Posted February 17 Nice Beaver, no seriously great job and very hard to find fault with. Well done
fubar57 Posted February 17 Posted February 17 Well done, love the weathering. Civilian Beavers are very comfortable but noisy. Used to fly into logging camps in them. At the end of my last trip, as the pilot was taxiing in to tie up, a wind surfer cut in front of us. The pilot said, "Watch this", turned the tail toward the surfer and fire-walled it.....no more wind surfer 1 1
Lightningboy2000 Posted February 17 Posted February 17 Fantastic work, as said above I almost thought it was the real thing! Martin
loloskymaster Posted February 18 Posted February 18 Wow, great result on your Beaver ! I was sure that you would build one with a "local" scheme. Lolo
Richard S Posted February 18 Posted February 18 Got to love a bit of International Orange on a model, looks amazing you’ve nailed the weathering, looks very realistic and photographed it superbly, as others have said, it looks like the real thing. Well done.
Epeeman Posted February 18 Posted February 18 Great work - love the instrument panel details. Regards Dave

mathy Posted February 23 Author Posted February 23 maybe they are using different productions. The print quality is pretty good, but the handling was just bad.
PattheCat Posted February 23 Posted February 23 Superb, at first sight I - just barely - noticed it wasn't the real thing.
phillip1 Posted March 2 Posted March 2 mathy-This is an incredible build! It really does look like a real airplane. The varied metallic paint finish is fabulous! The quality of the photos is first rate too! Phillip1
Pete1961 Posted March 2 Posted March 2 Really great piece of work you have done. I actually thought that the first few photographs were of an actual aircraft in the flesh as to speak. Well done!
Mig88 Posted March 2 Posted March 2 Absolutely fantastic!! As others have said, it looks like the real thing in the photos! Miguel
patjb Posted March 3 Posted March 3 That is a work of art! Just looking at engine cowls alone, the finishing and weathering is superb. I had a low level flight in a British army one and a civil on floats one in Canada. Both very memorable for different reasons. That's it I am going to have to get one of these kits. Pat
72modeler Posted March 3 Posted March 3 You had me with the oil blow-by behind the cowling! Looks just like the photo in the old Replica magazine! Mike
neilspen Posted March 3 Posted March 3 This is one of the most realistic builds I have seen in a while. The cockpit detail looks amazing. 🫡🏆
kapam Posted March 4 Posted March 4 An incredibly brilliant build! The little details and the weathered finish are outstanding! 👋👋👋
