My contribution to the GB will be a Royal Danish Air Force F-16AM in Have Glass grey, which I just think looks the business (RDAF photo).

The Danes painted their first F-16 in the F-35 style Have Glass grey in 2020 - more here:

I'm not sure how many exactly, but a small number of other RDAF F-16s are now in the Have Glass scheme, despite their looming retirement this year (and replacement by the F-35). But the Danish F-16s will fly on, with a batch donated to (and some are already in service in) Ukraine, and Argentina buying 24.

My victim will be the Kinetic Gold F-16AM boxing.

With a little bit of aftermarket embellishment:

I have ended up with two lots of PE for the ejection seat harnesses, as I didn't realise a harness set came with the Eduard Look instrument panel. I also have PE for a block 42 cockpit which I bought just for the side panels, which I'm sure will be correct enough for a F-16AM. And as mentioned in the chat thread I'm also considering an aftermarket exhaust...

Decals are on order from Lima November. Will post a pic when then they arrive.

Finally, my load out is TBC, but I do like the look of this air defence configuration, with AIM-120s, AIM-9s and a Litening pod. But does anyone do aftermarket PIDS pylons as carried by the Danish F-16s?

Plenty of time to work that out, but in the meantime I'm looking forward to making a start this weekend. This promises to be a cracking GB, and I'm looking forward to seeing everyone else's builds take shape. 👍👍

A very nice project Gerard.

I think you've got the AM side alright, but I do recommend a ResKit exhaust for it, it's a real little gem as you can see.

Good luck with your project.

The loadout in your photo does help define the clean lines of the F-16 :)

Doesn’t it!

I’ve made a start, but not too much to show just yet. Some paint and PE splashed and glued in the cockpit, and the ejection seat assembled and in paint. Plus I discovered the ejector pin marks in the intake trunk halves. Good thing I like filling and sanding…

Started

More interestingly, my aftermarket exhaust arrived in today’s post. It’s by Gloria Model, which is an apt name, as the detail is glorious.

Started

it’s as good as any 3D printed resin as I’ve yet seen. (Not that I’ve seen a lot in the flesh, but the detailing is superb.) The kit parts are fine, but this is on another level. Fingers crossed the fit is as good.

Those parts in the exhaust set do look rather good. You also look to have a neat and tidy rendition of the cockpit there Gerard.

Nice exhaust nozzle, never heard of Gloria Models but it does look like a good replacement P&W exhaust.

That exhaust look really great, or Glorious as said. :D

I’m very impressed, that’s for sure. This was the only review I could find, but it’s effusive: https://scalespot.com/reviews/details/3dparts-gloria/review.php

Thanks for the review @Wings unlevel Gerard.

Looks like Super-Hobby of Poland carries Gloria.

I think I'll order myself a set or two of them, since I accidentally ordered myself a Kinetic Ukrainian F-16. :D

Lovely start, Gerard!!  Loving the AM bits:popcorn:

Thanks Nigel! A slower start than I’d like (training for a cycling event at the moment so I’m short on time and energy!), but there’s a good model in the offing here, I hope!

Should be ‘fun’! 😂

That's quite the day out you've signed yourself up for Gerard but it seems to be well organised. There's a couple of lads I follow on YouTube called The Nero Show that have mentioned it in several of their episodes.
