Paul821 Posted January 29 Posted January 29 For those of us who like soft top military vehicles there is a nice new rage of Bedford MW trucks in 1:72 scale. 3
Ngantek Posted January 29 Posted January 29 I wonder if IBG are ever considering going back into 1/700 ships. It's something they do very well; but perhaps the remaining options don't have a lot of potential interest. Danae class? A bit too esoteric perhaps. N class (Piorun) has been done a lot, 'proper' M (Orkan), theres a gap in the market but flyhawk might release at some point. Grom? Wicher? The Mirage options are very rough and an increasingly old fashioned scale. I dunno if Blyskawica's existence as a museum ship would help sales enough. I don't know if they would consider non- Polish subjects.

Sorry that was poorly worded. I guess I'm searching for pattern from a sample size of two tool families! So with both being used by the Polish Navy and widely used by the RN, one can see the sense from that perspective. I'm just thinking out loud about others that fit the same criteria, and none perhaps seems so numerous or well known. Ships being niche as they are, I can readily imagine that economically worthwhile gaps in the market for steel toolings are not that common; and US and Japanese subjects are already particularly well covered. There are of course many that one could name that were numerous, relatively famous, and currently lacking in model form, but looking from the outside without access to sales data of any kind, it always going to be a wishlisty shot in the dark. One doesn't even know for example if IBG's foray into 1/700 as a commercially successful. I suppose all I'm saying is that IBGs previous kits are pretty good (the G-Is in particular) and would therefore love to see them make more, and indeed to know whether such a thing is on the cards! 12by12 Posted January 29 Posted January 29 Not enough ship modellers buy destroyers. They seem to want endless Bismarcks, Yamatos and Titanics. Having said that I have several IBG ships and would like to see more, but I won't hold my breath. 2

I don't know why so many people are trying to find some hidden pattern when the principle of selection is trivially simple - there must be good documentation, there must be sales potential, there must be an option to release multiple boxes. In this business there is little room for sentiment.

Shock and surprise! Perhaps some other factors can intrude? Trivial? Or superficial?
SprueMan Posted January 29 Posted January 29 Why only aircraft Homebee? Would it hurt you so much to include all models? 🙄

MiG-Mech Posted January 29 Posted January 29 Two secret items in cooperation section. Maybe Clear Prop's 1/72 MiG-23 and MiG-19 to make Polish Air Force boxes. 2

My dirty ol' crystal ball shows both Mi-8/17 and Su-24 from Trumpeter in Ukrainian liveries 🙂 On the other hand I'd be happy to see a Ford V3000S with an US cab. Trumpeter Su-24 is already in Ukrainian markings, but might be a nice idea to supplement it with Storm Shadows. Could be also MiG-21F-13 from Modelsvit in Polish markings. Or Trumpeter's An-2.
