Here's my second completed model off the production line for 2025.

Lockheed T-33A 53-5137 81st TFW Bentwaters

Italeri/originally Platz kit. 1/72

Used the Eduard PE cockpit & decals from Printscale.

Paints; Alclad Aluminium & various acrylics.

The only thing & scratched was the canopy strut.

Many thanks for looking & apologies for the barely existent build thread! That's one thing I've never been that good at!

That's a lovely T-33!

Opening the canopy is definitely the right call, I wish I had done this on mine.

You've also done a great job mating the intake with the fuselage. It's easier said than done.

Two small points of constructive criticism from a fellow T-33 builder / enjoyer, if I may.

  • OOB, the exhaust sticks out a bit too much and should be shorten
  • The mid cockpit "arc" is too thick for the scale. Cutting it off and replacing it with a metal or styrene strip solves the issue.

That's lovely, and nice to see the Twin Bases represented. :goodjob:

No apology necessary - unless I missed something in the site rules, it's not compulsory. I rarely do any WIPs or even RFIs, whether on this site or elsewhere.  Would rather get on with the modelling itself. :pilot:

(Edit): It goes without saying that I appreciate those who do make the effort, the foregoing is not intended to belittle you fine folk. :)

A pleasing subject to gaze upon.  The natural metal / silver finish turned out great!!! :goodjob:

Smart job there Martin. What on earth inspired you to choose that?

Thanks mate, yes I have absolutely no idea! 😉

How the hell does the back seater get in?

I see what you mean! They were little pilots & the gap is larger than you think it is! 😁

Great result! If you want a laugh, look up a current sized human getting in and out of a Stuart tank. We won’t even mention ball turrets.😆

Hmmm, current size humans compared to WW2 size humans might have changed a little I presume?

Didn't they have to dismantle the ball turret? 😂

Nice one, Martin. That Platz kit falls together ;)

Thanks Martin! It did basically fall together. Need more kits like that, in fact I've also got the Tanmodel boxing which I'm keen on doing but I've got way too many choices of schemes to do it in!

Glad there's someone else like me then! I mostly forget there's a camera on the mobile phone as I'm engrossed in my modelling...

Thank you, as it was a breeze to build, I wasn't that focused on the small details. I have got another one to do, at a later date.
