Hi all,

First timer here! After lurking here for a long time I've finally decided to post a RFI of a build that I'm pretty happy with. 🫡

It's an OOB IBG 1/72 Focke-Wulf 190 D-9, painted in a RLM 76/81/82 scheme. The kit does go together pretty well, although I've had some moments with ot that left me pretty frustrated and in need of a break... It was my first time building this model and I'm not that experienced, so I'd guess that these were my errors, which luckily I've managed to mostly resolve 😄.

It's all painted by brush, using mainly Vallejo and Hataka Blue paints, which go down really well. The mottling, as well as most of the (non-visible to the camera, but it's there I swear!) shading was done with oil paints. I've wanted to go for a slightly used and dirty, but not heavily chipped look.

Hope you like it, I'd appreciate any and all criticism or tips for future builds! 😊

I like it, as a brush painter myself, you've achieved a good finish which looks thoroughly convincing. I'd be very happy with that. 👍

Might I suggest, seeing as you're newish here, if you haven't already go off to the New Members thread & say hi to everyone, & before one of the mods steps in & offers guidance, make your photos a bit smaller, up to about 1200 pixels wide is a good size which loads quickly & doesn't hog the data of those whose view these pages on phones & devices. I'd also recommend cropping your photos to maximise the subject & then you don't loose so much impact with a smaller image size. :)

Keep up the good work.

Steve.

I couldnt tell at first is was brush painted meaning well done!! Brush painting takes a lot of talent and the results are usually either hero or zero. Welcome aboard.

Thank you for the warm welcome! It is a bit time & patience consuming for sure, but I enjoy the process... hoping to build something with more mottling soon 😀

Thanks for the tips Steve, will do all that - I'm still finding my way around the forum, so help is appreciated! 😀

The finished kit looks great and the painting is done quite well.  Mottling is supposed to be restrained and you achieved that.  Thanks for sharing, keep up the modeling and hope to see more from you.
