Alex1978 Posted January 21 Posted January 21 (edited) My first batch for 2025. The airliner models from Hasegawa are always a treat to build.Easy going together, nicely detailed for 1/200 and in most cases very accurate. The DC-10 was among their first range of airliner releases and came out around 1980. Its for its age quite detailed and catches the shape of the real thing well. Built OOB with decals from Liveries Unlimited. The modern follow up to the DC-10 , the MD-11 was first released by Hasegawa in 1995. It has fine recessed panel lines and was,at its time of release, the only MD-11 kit available. It was released with several liveries through the years but sadly was never reissued since around 2002. Thankfully I have built up quite a stock of those. Built OOB as well and using the kits decals. It allows the build of all 13 MD-11s Swissair had in its fleet in 1995. I opted for HB-IWN ,which joined the fleet as the last factory fresh MD-11 for Swissair ,and it was christened "Basel-Landschaft" in late august 1994 at our local airport, where I photographed her as a youngster. The A320NEO is a newer release from Hasegawa, around 2017. The colourful livery of japanese airline PEACH immediately cought my attention and I bought it right away. Its a very detailed kit for its tiny size. The whole livery is done with decals, which are nicely printed and the fit of them is good. There is also instructions for mixing the different colors, which work surprisingly well. I had to paint the engine nacelles,as the decal for them are not usable to good result. These kits will go to the Philippines next month with me as a gift for my girlfriend, who requested some models built by me 😊 I hope they will survive the trip... Cheers Alex I will also take this chance to let all those who followed me on BM for the past 10 years and enjoyed my pictures where my cats participated in as well sometimes,to inform you, that my beloved lady cat "Dukdik" went to the rainbow, she sadly passed away unexpectedly on january 16 ,2025 at the age of 15. She's greatly missed. Almost 3 years ago,my buddy "Sakura" passed away as well, aged 12. They are reunited again. As a last tribute some pics of them for those who enjoyed them on my postings. Abandoned Project Posted January 23 Posted January 23 Condolences on the loss of your cats. Nice airliners BTW. 1
keefr22 Posted January 23 Posted January 23 The jets are lovely, but not as much as those gorgeous cats. I did miss seeing them in your pictures but didn't like to ask where they were. So sad for your losses.... Keith 1
Mark Posted January 24 Posted January 24 Thanks for posting up the airliner models! The DC-10 is always great to see, but the MD-11 will always, especially in Swissair livery, hold a special place for me. HB-IWF, Swissair 111, sadly lost on 2/9/98. Now that brings us to the Peach A320. WOW!!! What paints did you use? The finish is perfect. I’m also sorry to hear that you have had to say goodbye to your beloved furry beasts. Mine are of the canine variety and I know how important they are to us. Sleep well Dukdik and Sakura. 1
mitchem Posted January 24 Posted January 24 Great builds Alex, evoking some happy memories about flying on Swissair MD-11s from Johannesburg to Toronto (via Zurich). As far as the Hasegawa 1/200 kits are concerned, I only ever managed to complete the ANA Boeing 767, and although I had the KLM DC-10, mixing the right shade of blue and applying by brush ended the relationship. Your builds are making me think that they would be worth revisiting. Your cats....So sorry to read about your loss, as their ability to "photobomb" your builds always brought a smile to my face. I even started thinking that perhaps owning a cat would improve my model building ability, so when my daughter asked if we could adopt her cat, I was thrilled at the opportunity. Let's just say that he hasn't been of much help.... 😄 Safe travels and Best Regards mike 1 1 1
Longhorn Posted January 24 Posted January 24 A great looking set of jets, always had a soft spot for an MD-11. Sorry to hear about your feline friends, 15 is a 'good innings' as they say, for a cat. 1
Bjorn Posted January 24 Posted January 24 Very nice and clean work! I have always liked the DC-10, and the Airbus looks great too. 1
Billy54 Posted January 24 Posted January 24 Nice builds, thank you for sharing your images of them. Sorry to hear about your kitty. I am working on a 1/200 Hasegawa P-8 and I have learnt that 75 year old eyes, fat fingers and 1/200 scale plastic can be a very frustrating combination. Your builds are an inspiration. 1

They were always my biggest critics😉 The MD-11 was always a great experience, esp. the landings at Kai Tak Hongkong. Your cat looks like shes enjoying herself. All paints are from Gunze. For the base color for the lila and pink mixes,I used Gunze Magenta. If you follow the mixing instructions Hasegawa provides, you get really close matches for the different shades if touch ups are required. 1
Vesa Jussila Posted January 25 Posted January 25 Really nice builds again from your hangar. And it's always sad to hear when someone loses pet. Those are family members. 1 1

woody37 Posted January 26 Posted January 26 Lovely builds Alex, but so sorry for your loss. Never had cats, but can only relate too well to the grief from losing dogs that have been part of our family. 1

Gimme Shelter Posted January 27 Posted January 27 Hi Alex Good to see you back in production for the New Year. For some reason, I've always associated you with 1/144 civies - its great to see your new builds appearing in 1/200 and aren't they great - that Peach Airbus must have been a fun job painting and masking - top-notch! Personally, I have always loved Hasegawa's LoveLiner200 range but sadly it now needs expanding as the 1/144 vendors have a far wider choice of designs on offer but they all take up soooo much more space! If only Hasegawa could come up with 1/200 kits of perhaps, Concorde, the A380, L1011-500, 747-8, 747SP, A350 - well the list could go on forever..... Looking forward to seeing more from Switzerland soon. John 1

Looking forward to seeing more from Switzerland soon. John Thank you very much John. I have built mostly 1/144 airliners but I have a large stock of Hasegawa 1/200 Love Liners. But also airliner kits of different scales.I buy/build what I like,so I do not focus on one particular scale. The Peach A320 was mostly done with the kit provided decals for the livery. I also have the Peach A321,so as the A320 will go to my girlfriend,I still have one of those for my collection😊 I have some more Hasegawa airliners in production currently,OOB builds and some with aftermarket decals. Amongst them 747-300s with the brown/black stripe and the newer livery. These were on my to-do-list for a long time since the Swissair 747 was my first ever 747 flight. Its a real pitty Hasegawa has cut down their airliner range.I always liked them. Edited January 27 by Alex1978 1
Viking Posted January 27 Posted January 27 Lovely set of airliners Alex, the Peach airbus in particular is a real stunner. Cheers John 1
