TimJ Posted January 14 Posted January 14 My first entry for this GB will be the Airfix McLaren 765LT Starter Set. Having built the other kits in the series I can say that these are nice little kits with a fair amount of detail. Upon opening the box I realised that the brake discs had been painted and the axles glued to the floorpan but it's still within the 25% allowed. bianfuxia Posted January 14 Posted January 14 Good choice and welcome! I'd always wondered what was inside these kits - they're less basic than i had assumed. Watching with interest! 1
CliffB Posted January 14 Posted January 14 I'm just discovering 1/43 scale car kits (hopefully I'll being bringing my first two to the GB later on), so I'm really keen to see how this unfolds
TimJ Posted January 18 Author Posted January 18 Work commenced by fitting the interior tub to the floorpan, after which the assembly was primed and then sprayed satin black. P1070674 by timothy jones, on Flickr P1070675 by timothy jones, on Flickr The rest of the interior parts were also painted satin black, with dark grey panels on the seat and door panels to add a bit of contrast. P1070676 by timothy jones, on Flickr I also finished painting the brake discs. P1070677 by timothy jones, on Flickr More soon. 9
TimJ Posted Thursday at 01:34 AM Author Posted Thursday at 01:34 AM Not as soon as I was expecting but here's an update. The interior parts and brake discs have been fitted to the floor pan. P1070681 by timothy jones, on Flickr Before assembling the body I sprayed the inside of the door pieces and the sides of the body as when they are assembled there is a gap between the two parts that will be tricky to paint afterwards.
